Visit to Zhujiajiao and Zhouzhuang

Enjoy a visit to the traditional water villages of Shanghai. Head to Zhujiajiao and Zhouzhuang where you will see a former trading village that rose to glory as a result of the Grand Canal system which exported China’s goods overseas.
Zhujiajiao was built around the around the shore of the vast Dingshan Lake. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was one of the largest commercial centers on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. What remains today as you travel round are 36 beautiful old stone bridges which connect the quaint narrow streets.
Next, to Zhouzhuang, one of the world's oldest water towns. Here visit the 900-year-old Taoist Chengxu Temple and don't forget to photograph this picturesque spot.
