Everest Base Camp

The main overland route will begin to rise steeply to the foothills of the Himalayas, arriving at 5,030 meters above sea level into Rongbuk Monastery, known as the world's highest monastery and an important pilgrimage site.
The monastery is located just below the awe-inspiring Rongbuk Glacier, the largest glacier inside the Mount Everest State Natural Reserve and one of the world's best-preserved glaciers.
Afterwards, you will spend a full day hiking up to the Everest Base Camp, before returning down to Rongbuk where your driver will bring you back to Tingri. The Everest Base Camp is approximately 6 kilometers from Rongbuk Monastery, however due to the altitude we suggest to take it easy. Alternatively, you may also take government-run buses to the Everest Base Camp.
