Your journey through Uganda begins. This morning you will be privately transferred through traditional Ugandan villages and bustling towns to Murchison Falls National Park, home to a natural wonder in northwest Uganda. Your home for the next two nights is Murchison River Lodge, which has uninterrupted views of the River Nile. After settling in and observing the abundant birdlife from the hammock of your cottage, you will head out on your first game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for lions prowling the savannah grasslands for prey. Driving towards the river, watch in awe as a huge herd of elephants amble majestically along the river. Before heading back to the lodge, enjoy a gin and tonic at a scenic sundowner spot overlooking the Nile.
The following days will be spent exploring more of the national park. Drift down the river on your private boat and watch crocodiles gliding along the surface, with pods of submerged hippos breaking the surface of the still water as they peep up to catch a glimpse of you. Hike to the top of Murchison Falls and peer down at the thundering water as it surges down from a narrow gorge.Where to stay

This morning you will depart Kibale Forest and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular and diverse national park. After passing through rolling savannah you will arrive at Volcanoes Kyambura Gorge Lodge. With the most astonishing views of the Mountains of the Moon, the highest peaks in Uganda, this is an incredible base to explore the national park. For the next 2 days you will game drive in search of wildlife. The park is thriving with Ugandan kob, a species of antelope, so it makes the park a hive of activity as predators such as leopard and lion prowl the land. Watch in amazement at you witness tree-climbing lions lazily hanging out in the branches of acacia trees, to escape the heat and to scan the savannah for prey. A visit to Queen Elizabeth would not be complete without a boat cruise down the Kazinga channel. Drift down the channel, home to some of the highest concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in Africa and watch a herd of jovial elephants playfully interacting with each other in the water. If you eager to see more chimpanzees, you will have the opportunity to encounter some again, in the sunken forest of the Kyambura Gorge.

Today you will journey on to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Blanketed in the mist of the forest, you will arrive at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge. Settle into the lodge and enjoy a fascinating lesson on the process of tea-making before sampling a selection of teas overlooking the forest. In the morning your gorilla encounter awaits. Journey into the forest and clamber through dense foliage and hike steep gradients in search for the family of gorillas. This could take hours but as you can imagine it is totally worth it when you come across these mystical giants, observing how they interact as a family and watching the babies swinging and tumbling from low branches. You will have the privilege of spending an hour with these primates before heading back to the lodge, feeling overwhelmed from this bucket list experience.
In the evening take a walk to the local village where you will find Bwindi Bar, an authentic and stylish bar serving tapas style food and vibrant cocktails. Ask for the Gorillini cocktail, a very fitting drink after your trek!Where to stay
