Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
The best time to visit the UAE is between October and November and then February and March, when temperatures hang around the mid-20s and the humidity is under control. While December and January are generally considered the best months to go, the weather over the last couple of ‘winters’ has been unpredictable with occasional cloud and rain.
The month of Ramadan means hotel rates are heavily discounted, but while outside the resort, Ramadan is strictly adhered to, within the resorts you will notice very little difference.
High summer (July and August) means heavy discounted hotels it’s a great option for a cheap getaway but it will be very very hot and very very humid!
To start planning your holiday to Atlantis The Palm
A family favourite in Dubai, Atlantis The Palm is a busy, bustling attraction in itself, and is the epitome of Dubai: big, brassy and bold. The resort features 1,539 rooms and suites and was the first hotel to open on Palm Island.
With its enviable location atop the crescent of The Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis, The Palm is proud to be the area's first truly integrated entertainment resort. Transporting guests into a dazzling, imaginative world, the resort encompasses a 46 hectare site with 17 hectares of water themed amusement at Aquaventure, extensive fresh and salt-water pools and lagoon exhibits, an open-air marine habitat, a seemingly endless stretch of beach, luxury boutiques, numerous dining choices including four celebrity chef restaurants, an exciting nightclub, spa and fitness club.
Comprising 1,373 spacious guest rooms and 166 suites we suggest guests of Scott Dunn escape the masses by booking into the exclusive Imperial Club, designed to be a resort within a resort, for guests who ‘insist on the exquisite’. Offering elegant, luxurious surroundings with stunning views and select dining options, the Club also boasts complimentary business facilities, refreshments and light snacks.
This really is a resort for families with a payable kids club tailored to three specific age groups, and well-designed teens club where young adults can escape their parents clutches in a safe environment.
The latest addition of the Wavehouse brings a great entertainment venue and, with the thrill of Aquaventure Waterpark and the opportunity to explore the marine life of The Lost Chambers, the waters of Atlantis await!
The Palm Atlantis offers 1,373 spacious guest rooms and 166 suites. Each hotel room and suite is decorated in subtle oceanic blues, with spectacular views of the Arabian Sea, or across the Atlantis' private beach and over the iconic Palm towards Dubai skyline. 90% of the rooms and suites are interconnecting. Rooms at the Imperial Club feature a minibar and in-room dining, tea and coffee maker, exclusive scent provided by Floris, satellite TV with in-room movies, in-room safe, alarm clock w/ iPod dock, high speed internet, two-line phone and a bath with separate shower.
Children are welcome and there are fantastic facilities including the Atlantis Kids Club offering a range of activities from underwater safaris to cooking classes. Access to the club is complimentary for children staying in Imperial Club rooms, and passes are available to purchase for all other guests. The club is open from 10:00am until 6:00pm. Meals are available, but chargeable.
Facilities at the resort include the Wavehouse entertainment venue, a spa, the 'Sanctuary Nightclub', pools, beaches, shopping, tennis court, fitness centre, kids & teens clubs, Aquaventure (the largest water park in the Middle East) and The Lost Chambers, a maze of underwater tunnels and halls which are home to 65,000 marine mammals.
The long list of onsite activities is impressive with 17 hectares of water themed amusement at Aquaventure, extensive fresh and salt-water pools and lagoon exhibits, an open-air marine habitat, a stretch of beach, luxury boutiques, numerous dining options including four celebrity chef restaurants, an exciting nightclub, spa and fitness club.

Iconic to Dubai, the Atlantis is very impressive in design and has a real WOW factor, however it is not for everyone. Most suited for families looking for a funfilled adventure and action packed holiday. The resort has so much to offer with over 20 restaurants, a huge waterpark on site, a dolphinarium, kids and teens club, sea life centre...the hotel feels alot like a big shopping mall and it may take a little while to get your bearings! You will certainly never be bored if you stay here!

One of the most recognisable hotels in Dubai, they offer so many exciting activities many of which are complimentary as a in house guest, including the water park and aquarium. Although if you are searching for a relaxing and peaceful holiday this isn't the hotel for you!

Atlantis is big, bold and unashamedly brash! It's not for everyone, but families who want plenty to occupy the children will love it here. There is a water park, Atlantis Kids Club, Club Rush for teens, an aquarium and dolphin and seal encounters. With a plethora of restaurants on offer from fast food outlets right up to Nobu, there will be something to suit everyone's taste.

A great resort for families with a wide range of fun & friendly activities, especially for the kids including vast aquarium, dolphin scuba dive & shark safari . A super selection of restaurants & cuisines for even the fussiest eaters. AquaVenture is the most fantastic water themepark with rides to suit everyone's bravery levels - definitely worth the visit!

Atlantis is big, busy and bustling! Families who want adventure and activities will definitely not be disappointed - there is so much to do here that it's like Disney in Dubai! Aquaventure water park has complimentary admission for in house guests. There is also a swim with dolphins experience and you can meet the sea lions and have your photo taken. With 21 food and beverage outlets, a huge kid's club, Aquarium, plus many other activities available, I suspect the children (and maybe some adults!) will not want to leave!

Atlantis is not a property for everyone - some people love it and some people don't. It is the perfect place if you want loads to do, plenty of restaurants and bars and like a really busy, bustling property. You've got a big kids club, the 'Lost Chambers' aquarium, a huge range of dining options (22 restaurants, bars and lounges) including high end outlets such as Nobu and Seafire Steakhouse. But if you are looking for quite a peaceful holiday, I wouldn't really recommend Atlantis as it is very big and busy.

I would highly recommend this hotel to families. The kids club has won numerous rewards, the are seperate pools for children, special dinning options and of course the water park, you will not run out of ways in which to entertain them.

The Atlantis the Palm
When we drove towards the Atlantis I was shocked at its size, location its colour being Pink and looking like a Tower and a Bridge! I can only describe it as Disneyland in Dubai, everything about it is huge! Starting from the large checking in area, 1500 rooms, 20 Restaurants, big pools, big beach, shopping mall and of course not forgetting the worlds biggest waterpark! They also have Swimming with Dolphins and a lovely Aquarium which is mesmerising to watch the sharks & Sting Rays! The kids Club was rather good, the Aquarium window, Rock climbing Wall with plenty of activities on offer! With this in mind I would say you would be staying here through the eyes of your Children, and you may feel like a small fish in a large sea as its rather impersonal, but just fine for a quick stay in Dubai I am sure the children would love it, especially if you are passing through?
The rooms were rather similar to my Hilton days when I worked for them, thy looked clean and rather simple without any fussiness.
I recommend Club Rooms for VIP check in and club suite with daily snacks and drinks.

The Atlantis Dubai
If there was a casino at the Atlantis you would be forgiven for thinking you had landed in Las Vegas and not the middle of the Gulf. A huge complex of a hotel featuring everything from a shopping mall, to a fully-fledged aquarium and thats before you get to the worlds biggest water park. It really is a paradise for families with a never ending list of activities to be had and I must say it also brought out the child in me.
There are over 20 restaurants to choose from so I was never at a loss for new places to eat and things to try, with club floor rooms it is also possible to escape the craziness of some of the public areas with a dedicated lounge playing soft relaxing music and drinks and snacks served throughout the day.
I loved being on the Palm, it is far enough away from the main drag of Jumeirah beach to feel like a real beach holiday without the sky scrapers leering over you although there are the obligatory Dubai cranes dotting the horizon.
Id cant say Id return to the Atlantis in a hurry although every family should at least experience it once!!

A true kids adventure playground, the facilities at The Atlantis are impressive, from the beach-accessed AquaVenture waterpark, to the Kids Club and arcade The Zone - they'll not want to come home!
The holiday was great, thanks so much for organising. Atlantis was perfect for a high octane family holiday - so much to do. The Aquaventure was brilliant - kids and husband both loved it and we also swam with the dolphins too.

The Atlantis really does have the WOW factor. This enormous hotel has such a huge variety of facilities, restaurants and has a spectacular location on the end of the new Palm development. It is the new favourite for the family, I suppose because it tends to be suitable for all ages. Once you arrive at the hotel there is no reason for you to leave throughout your stay. The Imperial Club part of the Atlantis is where we suggest our Scott Dunn Guests to stay, it provides a personal touch and some added extras.
