Average time to visit
The best time to visit the UAE is between October and November and then February and March, when temperatures hang around the mid-20s and the humidity is under control. While December and January are generally considered the best months to go, the weather over the last couple of ‘winters’ has been unpredictable with occasional cloud and rain.
The month of Ramadan means hotel rates are heavily discounted, but while outside the resort, Ramadan is strictly adhered to, within the resorts you will notice very little difference.
High summer (July and August) means heavy discounted hotels it’s a great option for a cheap getaway but it will be very very hot and very very humid!
Al Yamm Villas by Anantara is located on the diverse Sir Bani Yas Island, exclusively occupied by Anantara and the Sheikh's palace. The resort is made up of beachfront villas yet has access to the island's free roaming wildlife such as the Arabian oryx.
Sir Bani Yas Island lies 100-kilometres to the southwest of Abu Dhabi and is the perfect retreat for nature lovers also looking for luxury and relaxation.
The Al Yamm Villas by Anantara is made up of 30 luxury villas, looking out either over the sea or the saltwater mangrove lagoon. The resort design has been inspired by Arabic fishing and pearl diving villages and the villas mix rustic charm with modern luxury.
There are three villa categories, all decorated in a neutral style using carved wood and colours that complement the natural surroundings. Each villa has its own deck and The One and Two Bedroom Pool Villas come with their own plunge pool. There are rain showers and free-standing bathtubs in every villa, and they are all decked out with modern comforts including a safe, TV, Lavazza coffee machine and air conditioning.
Guests can step straight off their villa's deck onto the white sand of the beach and there is a beautiful infinity pool looking out to the sea where you can enjoy the sunshine from your lounger. There is also plenty to do, with wildlife walks and drives over the island's savannah and colourful marine life to explore beneath the waves.
The hotel's Italian inspired restaurant, Olio, is renowned as one of the best restaurants in Abu Dhabi and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach-side Amwaj restaurant serves mouth-watering tapas style dishes for lunch and dinner, with flavours taken from Arabic and Asian cuisine, as well as home-made ice-cream creations for desert.
There are further dining options available at the hotel's nearby sister resorts, including Middle Eastern and African menus and delicious grilled seafood. For something extra special, try Dining by Design - a customised experience which could include a private dinner party on the beach or champagne at sunset on a wildlife drive.
There are 30 villas with three different categories: One Bedroom Villa, One Bedroom Pool Villa and Two Bedroom Pool Villa. The One and Two Bedroom Pool Villas have their own private plunge pool and all of the villas are provided with modern comforts including air conditioning and safes.
