Just a short drive from Phuket Airport, The Slate, formerly known as Indigo Pearl boasts a unique design based on the area's tin mining industry. Using bold industrial frameworks and creative furnishings the property sets itself apart in the design stakes

Keeping with the history and heritage of Phuket, The Slate (formerly The Indigo Pearl) combines heavy industrial frameworks and bold bright furnishings to create a completely unique design. From the original outdoor ceiling fans that have been taken from working tin mines to the dining room chairs made from original JCB buckets it is unlike any other property in Phuket.

The suites are very spacious with plenty of space both indoor and outdoor to relax and unwind. The Premium Bed Suites and D-Buk Suites have open plan bathrooms half indoor and outdoor, and are both well appointed while the Pool Suites have the added advantage of your own personal balcony and pool. The one and two bedroom Private Pool Villas are even larger and offer separate salas for the bedroom and living areas and a fantastic private pool.

There are numerous dining options available including the relaxed Tin Mine and Underground Cafe serving a mix of international and Thai dishes throughout the day to the more grown-up Rivet & Rebar. Black Ginger provides a fantastic balance between sophisticated menus and impressive design.

There are three fantastic swimming pools here, two of which are adult only infinity pools equipped with pool bars and one brilliant family pool. For guests looking for even more relaxation, there is a lovely spa, which of course follows suit in the fabulous design.

Indigo Pearl is quite fascinating with its industrial mine theme running throughout the design of the hotel, the restaurants, rooms, decor, artefacts are all based on this, giving it quite a quirky feel. The rooms all have a lovely new feel to them with their fresh colours, opt for one with a private pool if your budget allows! Another must, is to have dinner at Black Ginger which is the resort's Thai Restaurant, it's quite a special experience as it is built on a stilted structure in the middle of the lake and you access it by a raft.

  • Phuket Old Town E-Bike Tour

Whilst Phuket is mainly known for its beaches, the island also boasts an interesting history. Spend half a day exploring Phuket Old Town by electric bicycle, taking in the diverse architecture and learning about the past industry and communities.
