Average time to visit

Tanzania is a large country, with a varied climate. Generally, the long rains run from March to May - the temperature is warm and the humidity is high. June to October is the long dry season, and the short rains are in November and December, much lighter than the long rains. January and February are again dry (the short dry season) so this is another good time to visit.

Day 1-2

Arusha, Tanzania

Feel your excitement build as you peek out the plane window for a chance to see the majestic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, before landing at the airport. A representative will meet you and you’ll then be privately transferred to the outskirts of the bustling town of Arusha, where you will check in at Arusha Coffee Lodge. Exuding elegance and offering superb service, this is the perfect haven to relax and recharge after your long-haul flight, so that you feel revitalised for your safari adventure to begin in the morning. Spend your afternoon relaxing by the swimming pool, on a tour of the coffee plantations, but a must see is the onsite workshop, Shanga. This is a successful social enterprise that employs and trains local men and women with disabilities to create unique and high-quality jewellery and home wares, an uplifting and powerful experience.

Accommodation: Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge ( 1 night )
Day 2-4

Tarangire National Park, Tanzania

After enjoying a sumptuous breakfast, your private guide will drive you to Tarangire National Park where your northern Tanzania sojourn will begin. As you game drive through the park, you’ll notice baobab trees dotting the plains, interspersed with bushveld and acacia trees. You’ll arrive at Kuro Tarangire, a simplistic but luxurious camp, blending seamlessly into the riverside in the heart of the park. You’ll feel completely at one with nature as elephants pass through the camp, not even noticing you as you quietly observe them from the shade of your private deck. Head out on private game drives at your own schedule, slowly meandering along riverbanks in search for lions and elephants. As darkness begins to unfold you can uncover the more elusive wildlife on night drives and listen out for the gentle roar of lions or catch the shining eyes of bush babies.  If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, venture out on a walking safari and feel your senses awaken as you track big game and small creatures.

Accommodation: Kuro Tarangire ( 2 nights )
Day 4-6

Ngorongoro Crater, Northern Tanzania

Awake to the dawn chorus of birds and the warm sun settling on your tent. Setting off early, your guide will drive you further north to the Ngorongoro Crater. A highlight of today alone is the breath- taking journey up the winding roads to the crater, which are encased by evergreen forests. Your destination is Entamanu Camp, perched on the rim of the crater, with phenomenal views stretched out in front of you. This afternoon you’ll marvel at the sheer size of this World Heritage Site as you venture out on the ultimate guided nature walk, before stopping for a whisky overlooking the Southern Serengeti plains and toast to the spectacular sunset.  Tomorrow, as dawn breaks, you’ll head into the crater before the other vehicles enter the park and witness the outstanding volumes of wildlife that the park is so famed for. In the afternoon you’ll have the chance to visit Entamanu’s Masai neighbours in their village and learn about their fascinating traditions, or you can simply relax at the camp, feeling the palpable serenity of your surroundings before enjoying a dinner of fine cuisine beside the roaring fire.

Accommodation: Entamanu Ngorongoro ( 2 nights )
Day 6-9

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

The Serengeti awaits. In no time, you’ll be on a light aircraft flight soaring across to the Serengeti where endless plains dotted with acacia trees will unravel before your eyes.  Landing in the heart of this savannah, you’ll be met off the plane by your guide and game driven to Serengeti Safari Camp. Your hosts will welcome you into their home with revitalising drinks before showing you to your elegant tented room, which has all the luxury comforts you need. Game drive into the limitless landscapes of the Serengeti in an open safari vehicle led by an expert guide, encountering big game with particularly impressive sightings of big cats in this wildlife hotspot. Spend your evenings enjoying your choice of wine around a crackling campfire, before relishing on fine cuisine under the night sky, which is brimming with star constellations.
