Situated only 6° south of the equator, Zanzibar enjoys ideal holiday weather. Temperatures average between 24°C and 27°C throughout the year with 7-9 hours of sunshine per day.
There are 2 rainy seasons: Acute, brief showers, lasting about an hour in the morning occur for a couple of weeks during November. The rains last slightly longer in April and May, but even then it does not rain every day. These rains replenish the island and are often referred to as the “Green Season”.

Zuri Zanzibar is a brand new resort based on the beautiful white sandy beach of Northern Zanzibar offering a tranquil and relaxed environment. The resort comprises 55 bungalows, suites and villas looking out over the turquoise waters of the Indian ocean.
Zuri Zanzibar puts a huge emphasis on being a tranquil and relaxing haven based on the sandy white shores of Zanzibar. Sheltered in a large lagoon, all bungalows, suites and villas are only a short walk away from the beautiful turquoise water of the Indian Ocean.
Zuri Zanzibar is the only African beach property which is member of Design House and is innovative and stylish with a mix of contemporary and curated local furniture. With five different room categories it is able to cater to peoples various requirements.
Based in Kendwa, a huge draw for Zuri Zanzibar is its white sandy private beach. Due to its location in the lagoon this beach is not tidal so guests can swim all day in the clear calm water. This location is also a fantastic spot to sit with a cocktail in hand and experience the very best sunsets Zanzibar has to offer.
With its focus on wellbeing, Zuri Zanzibar is able to offer personalized yoga classes, a spa, a beautiful infinity pool, gym and tranquil spaces to just relax and read. It is truly a place to restore and unwind.
Zanzibar is of course home to some amazing spices and sea food. With its very own spice garden on-site, Zuri Zanzibar is able to offer some true culinary delights in one of its three restaurants. Guests are also free to explore the spice gardens and can use this quiet space for meditation or they can even request for swahili cookery course with one of the hotel chefs. Here they can have a truly interactive experience and understand more of Zanzibar's rich history in the spice trade.
There are five categories of private bungalows, suites and villas at Zuri Zanzibar, so they are able to cater to a large variety of different requirments and party sizes.
The majority of bungalows, suites and Villas at Zuri Zanzibar offer some incredible views out over the Indian Ocean. Some of the bungalows are either nestled amongst the serene tropical gardens and some have a partial sea view.
The Garden Bungalows are nestled in the tropical gardens. They can accommodate either a king bed or two singles and are ideal for two adults. An additional bed can be added for children under the age of 12 and are subject to availability. There is limited availability of interconnected bungalows.
The Zuri Bungalows offer a partial view of the Indian Ocean. They can accommodate either a king bed or two singles and are ideal for two adults. An additional bed can be added for children under the age of 12 and are subject to availability.
The Ocean Bungalows has a complete view of the Indian Ocean. They can accommodate either a king bed or two singles and are ideal for two adults. An additional bed can be added for children under the age of 12 and are subject to availability. There is limited availability of interconnected bungalows.
The Ocean Bungalows has a partial view of the Indian Ocean and a private jacuzzi. They can accommodate either a king bed or two singles and are ideal for two adults. An additional bed can be added for children under the age of 12 and are subject to availability.
The Zuri suites offer a partial view of the Indian Ocean and are nestled amongst tropical gardens. Each boast a separate living area and bedroom along with a private jacuzzi. The Suite can accommodate one king bed or two twins with an optional single sofa bed and therefore can take up to three adults.
The Ocean-Front suite offers uninterrupted views out over the Indian Ocean and is only a step away from the beach. Each boast a separate living area and bedroom along with a private jacuzzi. The Suite can accommodate one king bed or two twins with an optional single sofa bed and therefore can take up to three adults.
|Two Bedroom Ocean-Front Villa||
This two bedroom villa is set in a completely exclusive ocean front location on a semi-private beach. The villa boasts two separate bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as a living room, kitchen corner and private open air jacuzzi. The property can accommodate one king bed, two single beds and an optional two extra beds for children under the age of 12. In total the villa can take up to four adults and two children.
|Three Bedroom Ocean-Front Luxury Villa||
This three bedroom villa is based on the ocean front in an exclusive part of the resort with your very own private beach and infinity pool. The villa has three separate bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining corner as well as a well equipped entertainment room with a pool table, cardio-machine and entertainment center. The three bedrooms offer two king beds and two single beds and can host up to 6 adults.
Not only is this property located on a fantastic white sandy beach, Zuri Zanzibar also boasts a contemporary designed 32 meter long infinity pool where guests can relax and enjoy incredible views out over the ocean.
The resort is host to three lovely restaurants and bars so you will have some variation during your stay, each restaurant can offer some truly exceptional culinary delights and private dinners in romantic locations can also be arranged.
The resort's spa, Maua Wellness, has three massage rooms and one salon offering a range of treatments as well as a tranquil yoga space and gym.
Located on the beach is the resort's very own water sports center and shop where you can organize a multitude of different activities, PADI certified dive courses are also available.
Zuri Zanzibar resort can organize activities both within the resort and throughout the island of Zanzibar. The resort's water sports center offers the rental of various snorkeling and non motorized sport equipment, they will also be able to assist in organizing any water based activities such as snorkeling excursions, traditional dhow sun-set cruises or even a full PADI diving qualification. Kids activities are organized daily as well as games such as volley ball and petanque.
Outside of the resort they are able to offer multiple excisions on Zanzibar island such as visits to Stone Town and Prison Island, a Zanzibar spice tour or a visit to see the famous Zanzibar monkeys at Jozani Forest.
A dhow trip on the coast of Zanzibar
Sailing in a dhow, the traditional sailing boat used in Zanzibar, is the best way to view the island's coastline. Sailing in the late evening to watch the sun set is the best time of day and is wonderfully romantic.
A historic walk through Stone Town
Visit Zanzibar Towns old quarter, Stone Town on the west coast of Zanzibar. Here you will find beautiful architecture and historic buildings dating back to the 19th century, revealing the complex history of Zanzibar and its links with the slave trade.
Diving in Zanzibar
Located off the eastern coast of Africa, in the warm and clear Indian Ocean, Zanzibar is home to some great diving locations. Head to the tiny atolls off the north coast of Zanzibar, or take a trip to its neighbouring island of Pemba.
