Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.
Secluded East Winds is a traditional Caribbean resort, which provides an all inclusive experience for those who value understated elegance and simple relaxation on the stunning island of St Lucia.
A true Caribbean resort, nestled among 12 acres of lush tropical gardens, East Winds is on a stretch of beach in one of the most sheltered bays in St Lucia.
The hotel consists of 30 rooms and one “mini-suite” located in quaint, well-appointed, single-storey cottages. All rooms are elegantly furnished and feature Rivolta Carmignani linen with either king-sized or twin beds.
East Winds offers a wide range of facilities including an open-air restaurant serving authentic Caribbean cuisine, a small boutique and a free-form swimming pool with its own swim-up bar which you can help yourself to! Evening entertainment includes live piano music, soft jazz and traditional St Lucian melodies.
The resort features an Activities Pavilion offering board games, table tennis, fitness equipment, a pool table and yoga classes. East Winds has an open-air spa pavilion with two rooms offering a selection of treatments. There are also a wide range of complimentary water sports on offer and off-site activities at an additional cost include tennis, spa treatments, scuba diving, boat trips, fishing and island tours.
St. Lucia is renowned as one of the most beautiful of the Caribbean Islands. It offers a wide contrast of landscapes, ranging from one of the few remaining tropical rainforests of the region to the beautiful white and volcanic sand beaches. This is all dominated by the stunning view of the towering Pitons, the two lava cones which stand guard to St. Lucia's "walk-in" volcano, the Soufrière.
East Winds features 10 Superior Cottages, 16 Deluxe Cottages, 3 Ocean Front Rooms and 1 Ocean Front Suite. Each of the rooms has its own private terrace or patio and is set amongst the lush tropical gardens. All rooms feature a private bathroom with shower (no rooms have baths), in-room safe, multi-speed ceiling fan, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge.
Located near the hotel's main facilities, these majestic rooms are set in individual, hexagonal-shaped, rondavel style huts. They have a king-size bed (twin beds available upon request), a walk-in shower and adjoining walk-in wardrobe/service area with a small bar-sink unit in addition to a private semicircular shaded patio.
Located in the heart of the tropical garden, these spacious rooms are found in more recently built bungalows. They feature a luxurious king-size bed (twin beds available on request), an expansive bathroom with "His & Hers" basins and a wide semi-open-air shower and small lobby with a wardrobe and dressing table. The wide covered terraces through which the rooms are accessed feature an open-air bar, sink and fridge unit.
|Ocean Front Room||
Located at the front of the property closer to the beach, these rooms offer a breathtaking sea view from their traditional balconies. Although smaller in size than the other units, they feature the additional benefit of an open lounge in which you can relax and meet fellow guests.
|Ocean Front Suite||
This unique suite features a large private sun-deck with breathtaking sea view and extra outdoor shower, a small separate sitting room and its own cloakroom.
Children over the age of 3 years are welcomed during the Easter, Christmas and New Year holidays, and during June, July and August. For the remainder of the year, East Winds is an adult only hotel.
Activities kids will love on the island include the pirate hideaway of Marigot Bay, the drive-in volcano near Soufrière, the Maria Islands Nature Reserve to spot lizards and other wildlife, the nature trail at Diamond Botanical Gardens and Grand Anse on the east coast where you can watch giant leatherback turtles waddling ashore to nest.
East Winds hosts regular entertainment and there is a weekly manager's cocktail party. Minimum stay of 6 nights all year round. Child under 4 years accommodated free all year round when sharing with two adults or with one adult booked in a single room.

Other activities include spa treatments in the open air pavilion, garden games, shuffleboard, board games, table tennis and watersports including hobie cats, pedalos, kayaks, aqua-view boards and snorkelling. A wonderful haven to just relax and enjoy the wonderful Caribbean hospitality. Very friendly staff who do everything with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. Lovely simple rooms, some set amongst the gardens with no views of the sea or the ocean view rooms set just up from the beach. For those bath lovers, the hotel only has showers. There is one restaurant but a daily changing menu with a good choice to choose from. Being on an all inclusive basis you don't need to worry about anything; you can make your own cocktail at the pool bar or ask the friendly waiter at The Almond Tree Bar to make you a signature cocktail whilst watching the sunset. Each evening at dinner there is a selection of wines to enjoy, suitably paired with what is on the menu. There is plenty for guests to do; nature trails, yoga and pilates, sailing, a spa treatment in the recently opened open air spa pavilion or simply just relax and enjoy the Caribbean sunshine!

Peaceful and located amongst some extraordinary gardens that will keep the avid gardener entertained for hours! The service here is excellent and certainly a place for slightly older guests with a sophisticated dining experience complete with live piano and dress code.

I love this hotel, it is such a sweet property and the staff are so lovely and friendly. It is a little old fashioned in decor and the rooms aren't massive but this doesn't deter it from being one of my favourites.
As an All Inclusive property, the food doesn't disappoint from breakfast to dinner and you really must try the brownies at afternoon tea. Don't forget to enjoy the Friday night BBQ or the cocktail party on a Monday.
They now have a great fitness trail with exercise stations along the way to help with a good workout. They also offer complimentary Yoga on a Wednesday and Friday and Pilates on a Monday and Saturday between 0800-0900am, great to work off that fantastic food.
You can also take yourself off with one of their garden tour books and discover the flora and fauna at East Winds or you could ask the Head Gardener to take you around the beautiful grounds. Don't forget to stop and say hello to Eric the parrot who loves to show off!
The pool is a nice size and has a swim up pool bar. This is not a staffed bar but you can have fun following the cocktail recipes provided or making up your own cocktail! They have a nice stretch of beach, perfect for a stroll along at sunset.

East Winds is a quaint resort, with a really convivial atmosphere. I loved the Superior Garden Cottages, located at the bottom of the hill in Rondavel style rooms with delightful little tables outside with thatched umbrella's giving shade. The gardens, are without a doubt, the most beautiful I have seen.

East Winds is a traditional resort providing an exclusive experience for those who value understated elegance and simple relaxation on the stunning Caribbean island of St Lucia. Lovely secluded quiet hotel, nice and social so you can meet other people if you wish, lovely gardens, Yoga and Pilates pavilion, Piano concerts. East Winds has many repeat guests, plus in the past has been known for the more discerning guest, but now these guests are recommending the hotel to their grown up children, therefore they are bringing in the younger generation with their excellent reputation, food and wine. As the hotel is fully inclusive with single storey sweet bedrooms, with a Caribbean yet English charm. Set on 14 Acres with just 30 rooms the Boutique feeling is intimate and friendly. There is a fun Pool bar, where it is an honesty bar, where you can mix your own drinks and you can sit on stools in the pool to drink them.

East Winds is definitely one of the lower category hotels that we offer, I would say high 3* /4* level, but it is a good all inclusive resort which is on the smaller side, as most all inclusive resorts tend to be larger. The rooms are comfortable and nicely done. The property is also right on the beach, so no long steps down to clamber up or down!

East Winds is a tranquil and quiet garden oasis next to a lovely white sand beach. You would never know it was there as it is only a short way from Rodney Bay yet a world away from the hustle and bustle.
I must admit I thought of East Winds as being an older couples hotel as it is very quiet and maybe a touch old fashioned. However, both times I have visited I have noticed that the guests are a real mix of young and old and everyone has nothing but praise for the hotels warm welcome, service and atmosphere.
Many guests return year after year and the octagonal superior rooms in the gardens seem to be the most popular choice. A word of caution though, they're not air conditioned so if you are worried about the heat, opt for the slightly more luxurious deluxe or oceanfront rooms. Furnishings are a little on the rustic Caribbean side, but still very comfortable.
The hotel is very well run and managed and is a great option if you like to stay all inclusive and not move far from the beach or gardens. Entertainment is a steel band at lunch or a pianist in the evenings, definitely low key. There's a help yourself bar by the pool which is understandably popular. If you're looking for bright lights and night life, this probably isn't the place for you, however, if you want an away from it all break and to be really looked after, this could be just the place
