Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.

To get to Calabash Cove there is a bit of a bumpy road but upon arrival, views from the main lobby are absolutely amazing as you are perched high up with undisturbed vistas. There is a very relaxing ambience here and children are not allowed to stay here, so this is the perfect spot for honeymooners and couples. All the rooms are lovely but if you stay in a Junior Suite you can swim from your room into the main swimming pool and up to the bar! The hotel is all inclusive with no restrictions and even in your bedroom you have a bar offering the premium brands. Conveniently located to other restaurants beyond the hotel if you wanted to try something out locally.

Arriving at Calabash Cove has the wow factor for sure, with its cliff side location you are greeted by stunning ocean views. I really liked the rooms here - very stylish and modern and the swim up rooms are great for avid swimmers in the giant 100 foot pool!

The rooms with private plunge pools are darker and less modern and I wasn't such a fan, however if you want the private pool then the outdoor space is lovely and very relaxing.

I love the local influences on the menu, try the saltfish and green banana for breakfast - delicious!

The Calabash Cove is a lovely property, small and intimate with only 26 rooms. I'd definitely go for the Swim Up Junior Suite given the choice. The all inclusive option has no restrictions and is great if you wanted to just not worry about a thing, although it is close enough to restaurants should you want to dine out on the odd evening. There is no buffet option at the hotel, all la carte with fresh ingredients and if you wanted to dine in your suite there is no tray charge to do so.

The rooms are a little smaller than most of the luxury hotels I have seen, but very comfortable with all the amenities you need. Each room has a fully stocked bar with full size bottles, cable, free WiFi, rain shower, balcony or patio.

The perfect place to fly and flop with great food, comfortable accommodation and in a great location to be able to get out and explore. Please note however that the last 10 minutes of your drive here is quite bumpy.

Calabash Cove is a boutique style hotel with just 26 suites and cottages with superb view as you walk through the entrance, just look across from Reception to the beach and sea, their position on the west coast is stunning! Whether sitting in the restaurant or swimming in the pool it is rather breathtaking at sunset. The pool has a fun bar to sit and sip cocktails in the lovely Caribbean Sun or sit on a sun lounger and watch the day go by with a great book, perfect for couples wanting to escape the hustle and bustle and relax. This hotel is not for children under 16 years, so has an adult feel, some might say perfect for honeymoon.

This property is down a bumpy road but when you get there it is well worth it for the amazing view that greets you of the Caribbean Sea. It is isolated and off the beaten track, in a cove that is secluded with not too many people around. It has a beautiful sandy beach. It is ideal for couples and honeymooners alike. A very contemporary hotel with three room categories one of which is the swim-up room junior suite; there are only four of these so they will go very quickly.

This is a really sweet property tucked away down a driveway close to Rodney Bay and set on a lovely small beach. Calabash Cove is an adult-only property and is perfectly small and intimate for a romantic getaway. There isn't a lot to do here beyond taking a dip in the infinity pool, lounging in the gardens or on the beach or indulging in a spa treatment. However, the location means that if you wish to explore the island it's a great choice.

The bar and restaurant are perfectly placed for sundowner cocktails with a fantastic ocean and sunset view.

Accommodation is modern contemporary, I would recommend the beachfront cottages as they have their own small plunge pools and hammocks, perfect for a lazy day.

As a new property, service can still be a little patchy, however, this will only improve with good management and is often just part of the Caribbean way. Relax and enjoy!
