Cape Town, South Africa
Seal Island, is a small island, around 200 meters in length and a 15-minute boat ride from Hout Bay. The island has become a breeding colony for around 6000 Cape Fur Seals and several operators offer daily trips to the island.
Seal Island is a popular destination for tourists firstly for the seals but also due to the large amounts of Great White Sharks that surround the area. Being the Cape Fur seals biggest predator, there are frequent Great White sightings from the boats on visits to Seal Island. The trips tend to last for around an hour and are priced at around R75.00 for adults and R30.00 for children under 12.
