Aspen has an extreme continental climate with very cold winters and warm summers. Activities are very seasonal. Spring, from late April to June, is marked by mild days and cold nights, with some rain and occasional snow. Summers offer warm days and cool nights and a profusion of brightly coloured wildflowers. Expect blue sky days with occasional short afternoon showers. Outdoor adventure and an abundance of art, culture and music events, many of which are free, attract visitors to Aspen in the summer. The first big event of the year being the Food and Wine Classic scheduled towards end of June, with events running through September.
In autumn, the aspen and cottonwood run gold and red displaying a spectacular fall show. The days are sunny, with cold nights. Rain eventually gives way to snow. Winter brings with it enough deep snow to keep a skier happy well into April.

Over the last 20 years The Little Nell has gained a reputation as a very special place to stay in a very special resort.
It is the only ski-in ski-out property in Aspen itself, and the concierge service means that everything is easy; from planning excursions and meals to making sure your boots are warmed and your ski edges sharpened each morning.
Like the resort itself, Little Nell is unpretentious but offers top quality service.
