Located hovering above the town of Ping'an, with mesmerising views over the cascading rice terraces below, Li-An Lodge is uniquely designed and full of character. Using traditional Chinese design features the property has a beautiful sense of place and charming atmosphere.
With just 16 individually designed and named rooms, each offers a different character. The names of each room denotes the different design influence and even though not expansive in size do provide a very comfortable stay with en suite bathrooms and most coming with breathtaking views of the rice terraces below.
There is one main restaurant at the Li-An Lodge which offers a combination of local and western cuisine and a lovely library and lounge in which to relax after days hiking in the surrounding countryside.
The real draw of Li-An Lodge comes from its unrivalled position above Ping'an village with panoramic views over surrounding houses and countryside below. Ping'An is a sleepy village with no cars or roads but instead winding cobbled footpaths, elegant wooden houses and a real feeling of stepping back to old world China.
When to visit
Ideally choose a room with a rice terrace view but if budget will not allow choose either the Abacus or Aroma rooms which offer partial views of the terraces.
