Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
The best time to go is from 1st May - 1st October when it is 29/2 Aurland's main season. If you would like to go as a group and would like to travel at other times of the year it is possible to arrange this. May is a beautiful time to go with the snow capped mountains, raging waterfalls and blossom on the trees, with little lambs frolicking in the fields. For those that would like to have a bit of a calmer trip outside the peak season, September is also great. As the leaves are changing and the weather is still warm, it makes for a fantastic time of year to visit.
The Flaam Railway is open all year round; voted one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Also trips to the local fjords is available throughout the year.

Description
29/2 Aurland is a real find, located perfectly near Flam, the fjord and close to the stunning Snow Road. This beautifully decorated, family-run home away from home offers a warm and authentic Norwegian welcome.
Owners Tone & Bjorn’s passion and love for the area will soon rub off on you as you discover this hidden gem. The couple exude charm and enthusiasm and Bjorn's talent for building coupled with Tone's eye for décor mean 29/2 Aurland looks likes it's straight from the pages of an interior design magazine.
The standalone house with five bedrooms is beyond homely with a log burning stove, amazing photos from bygone days, cosy woollen throws and deep armchairs. Next door the newest building, where breakfast is served, boasts a sitting area with a glorious wall of windows as atmospheric by day as it is by night. Here the rooms are like suites, spacious and airy with sublime bathrooms.
The old smoke house, where Bjorn's father used to cure the wild salmon is like stepping back in time. Dinner is served here, sitting around a communal table, listening to tales of past guests, the old way of life and slowly sinking into the relaxed pace synonymous with rural Norway.
The guides are fantastic and will devise hiking routes to suit your preferences, be it a gentle stroll through stunning scenery or a more demanding hike to a perfect viewpoint. This is a true Norwegian home from home and perfect for those wanting to venture off the beaten path.
Meals are inspired by what's in season and the focus here is all about relaxing with a great book and glass of wine by the fire in the evening after a day of exploring your enchanting environs.

29/2 is a heavenly place for those who value delicious food, slow travel and authenticity. From the owners to the guides and the chef, there is special care and attention in everything they do. The location of the property is stunning and you get the chance to learn about the history and development of the area from people who have lived here for generations. The communal dining and simple rooms wont be for everyone, but for a few days of sustainable exploration you cant beat it!
