Zocalo Central Hotel
Mexico City, Mexico City and Puebla, Mexico
At a Glance
The Zocalo Central Hotel is a beautifully remodelled hotel in the heart of Mexico City, hugely popular amongst guests for its comfortable beds, cracking location and good value
The original old building has been totally refurbished and the interiors blend antiques and Mexican artwork with a more modern and subtle luxurious feel
The dim lighting throughout the common areas provides a calming environment, a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the street outside, whilst the lobby atrium filled plants and natural light is a relaxing place to enjoy a snack or coffee
Nothing can detract from the hotel’s amazing view of the Zocalo (main square) which is best observed high up from the rooftop terrace and restaurant where you can tuck into some of Mexico’s most appetising dishes and not a bad spot for a sundowner either!
It is an appealing choice for more independent travellers who are keen to explore this vast metropolis at a leisurely pace, with many of the city’s main attractions and a wide choice of eateries within easy walking distance

Best time to Visit

Average time to visit
At this altitude (2240m above sea level), Mexico City rarely gets too hot therefore can be enjoyed at any time of year. The hotter months of May and June, and the rainy season (June-September), when the capital experiences a downpour most afternoons may want to be avoided. Pollution is in maximum effect in the hot, dry season of spring, from late February to early May. Busy times include the MACO Contemporary Arts Festival (April), the Pride march (late June), the Cake Festival (August) and Fashion Week (October).
