Insider's View

Head out to beside the pool in the evening and look up at the Petronas Towers - they are simply stunning when lit up at night, they look like they are covered in diamonds.

I went up the Petronas Towers, which have the most breathtaking views across the city and with the Mandarin Oriental being so conveniently located, it was so easy!

Central Park adjacent to the Mandarin Oriental is a wonderful place to walk. You also get a great view of it at night from their club lounge.

An upgrade to a club room is actually very good value as this gives you pretty much a full board stay complete with evening cocktails.

Opt for a Tower View room or Garden View room as these are better than the city views.

Like all Mandarin Orientals, Kuala Lumpurs own oozes plenty of grandeur from its chandelier lit lobby to its glossy marbled bathrooms. It really still is very iconic and the it place to stay. The pool, spa and fitness centre are currently undergoing significant renovations, which I can foresee adding to the success of the hotel, the new infinity pool will really be quite something! Dcor is elegant and traditional which is what you want from a Mandarin Oriental and the service of course, exceptional. Afternoon tea here is something of tradition, so make some time for this and breakfast at Mosaic is definitely not to be missed either!

The Mandarin Oriental was my first port of call on my recent trip to Malaysia, and what a great place to start and recuperate. The Mandarin Orientals staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly and make you feel instantly at home. With over six restaurants, many retail shops, a stunning spa, tennis courts and swimming pool, you would be pushed to find a reason to leave the hotel. The Club benefits are most definitely worth taking advantage of. This includes a buffet lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails and a delicious array of culinary delights. This iconic hotel really lives up to its name once again.

By far the most luxurious property in Kuala Lumpur, the Mandarin Oriental is the perfect base to explore the city, especially with its ideal location right next to the Petronas Towers, which when lit up at night look like two huge chandeliers hanging from the sky! Not only did the accommodation and service live up to my expectations, I absolutely loved how close I was to not only the huge array of shops but the park too, for when you are feeling a little more active!

The Mandarin Oriental is the best option in the heart of Kuala Lumpur for anyone stopping off on the way or way back from exploring the rest of Asia. Located right next to the Petronas Towers and fantastic shopping and backed by a lovely park, it is in a fantastic area within walking distance to plenty of great amenities. The hotel itself is wonderfully comfortable and ideal for relaxing after a long flight, with a wide choice of restaurants and other amenities. I would highly recommend dinner at the newly revamped Pasifika restaurant; the fish-centric menu is absolutely delicious!
