The climate in Greece is warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From April/May onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May to October are particularly pleasurable months.

There is also the beautiful Anazoe Spa, if you want to a luxury treatment or spend the day unwinding with a good book.
The sports facilities both on land and water are outstanding. At either end of the pebble beach, there's a vast selection of equipment available for guests to use, from surfing to kayaking, golf or tennis, you can be as busy or as relaxed as you choose to be. Costa Navarino has two 18 hole signature golf courses, so easily accessible to guests of both hotels.
Happy children, make happy vacations and there are no shortage of things to make them smile. Our Childcare program is second to none and guests return to our Explorer kids club locations year-on-year, confident in the knowledge that whilst they relax and enjoy precious vacation time, their children are creating unique experiences and making new friends.

There is no shortage of things to do at The Romanos for both adults and children. The aqua park and adventure playground keep the little ones entertained for hours, and family activities range from bike hire to surfing or just exploring the local area. The resort has two golf courses, tennis courts, indoor sports hall, Navarino Outdoors for cycling experiences, a bowling alley as well as extensive watersports facilities. At either end of the beach, there are two watersports bases (non-motorized) with kayaks, SUPs, kitesurfing and windsurfing. Lessons can be easily arranged and you'll find good breezes throughout the year, except in August when the wind may drop due to the heat. Please note, there are no small sailing boats for hire within the vicinity and the beach has some strong currents, so may not be suitable for very small children.
|Discover local nature||
Grab a pair of binoculars and observe the thousands of migrating birds that visit the Gialova lagoon each year. Sample the delicious wines produced by our vineyards, scenically scattered on the western hillsides close to the sea. Witness the ages-old tradition of transforming olives grown in Messinia’s verdant groves into rich, delicious olive oil—and perhaps even plant your own tree.
The resort organizes many hiking tours that children as young as six can take part in. Some lasting as little as 1.5 hours, and others taking longer, they include boat trips, cooling off in the sea, visiting picturesque citadels and allowing you to explore the beautiful and historic surroundings. The pace is never strenuous and picnics are included on some of them.
The Westin boasts the impressive seaside Dunes Course, designed by former two times US Masters Champion and Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer. The 18 hole championship course is set in a landscape of diverse topography with spectacular sea and river views, incorporating some links-style features and is a challenge for golfers of all levels. Each hole has multiple sets of tees to allow the player to select the course length that best suits his or her game and has a par of 72.
There are extensive practice facilities including a well-appointed full-size driving range, putting green and short-game practice area. The Navarino Golf Academy has a team of professionals available for private lessons and individual coaching lessons for both beginners and the more advanced. And instead of taking your own clubs, you can hire them at the Academy.
Just a few minutes from Navarino Dunes, at the Navarino Bay development, the Bay Course offers an alternative set of challenges and choices in a quite different setting. Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. The par 71 course places a greater emphasis on strategic play and positional golf than The Dunes Course. The Seaside, Canyon, and Grove holes will provide striking contrasts that create a dramatic and memorable golf round.
There are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills or advance existing ones with the expert tuition on offer at the resort. Escorted kayaking trips, paddleboarding, kitesurfing lessons for beginners and for the more experienced, as well as surfing in one of the best spots in Greece - try the Surfari, riding the best spots at beautiful beaches in the morning and finishing at the Surf Club in the afternoon. Windsurfing enthusiasts can take advantage of modern equipment and teaching methods.
There is a diving club at the resort offering all PADI scuba diving courses from Bubblemaker through to Instructor level. Lessons are given one-on-one or in small groups of up to four.
Special programs are available for children aged 10+ which can lead to PADI certification (Junior Open Water Diver, Junior Adventure Diver, Junior Rescue Diver, etc.). In addition explore the magic of the turquoise water and experience Mediterranean aquatic life with daily snorkeling trips to Proti island.
Or why not join an experienced skipper aboard a sailing or motor yacht for a day cruise and sail the historic waters of the ancient Greeks. You can swim in crystal clear waters at secluded beaches reached only by boat and explore virtually unknown islets with imposing cliffs and historical monuments.
There are 9 different types of racquet sports to choose from at Costa Navarino. These include tennis (there are courts at both hotels), mini-tennis for kids, table tennis, speedminton, squash, badminton, padel and beach tennis. The Navarino Racquet Academy can arrange instruction by experienced coaches for beginners and children. Lessons can be arranged for every playing level, whether you are looking to learn in a group, or on a one-to-one basis.
The Mini Tennis Academy uses specific equipment to aid success for children to learn the basic technical skills of tennis in an informal, fun environment, through a coaching program is specially adapted to their needs.
|Sports and Entertainment area||
The Indoor Sports and Entertainment Center has an amazing range of activities on offer. This includes basketball, bowling, volleyball, five-a-side soccer as well as extensive areas for workout classes. There is also an American diner at the Sports Center.
Enjoy driving in a high standard race track where experienced personnel can also provide lessons for all levels and ages. Equipped with brand new CRG karts, a state of the art timekeeping system, a lighting system for evening hours and high standard simulators, and operating with the highest safety standards, the Navarino Speed Experience Park is a fun ride for the entire family.
Hop on one of the brand new four stroke, 270cc automatic CRG karts and enjoy an intense ride while tracking your performance with a state-of-the-art timekeeping system projecting on a giant screen while you drive. Lester Family - July 2018 (Guest)
Everything relating to Scott Dunn has been fantastic. All the Scott Dunn staff on site were great but especially Rachel and V were excellent with our children. A Scott Dunn vacation with young kids cant be beat. The staff are always so knowledgeable and professional and there is a peace of mind there that you otherwise dont get.
Wentzel Family - June 2018 (Guest)
Great location, great resort, great service. Definitely coming back. All the Scott Dunn team have been awesome.
Tricard Family - August 2018 (Guest)
We loved our vacation at Costa Navarino and in particular our daughter (as did we) found Alisha amazing!
Bain Family - June 2017 (Guest)
The whole vacation has been fantastic - largely due to the amazing kids club team here at Costa Navarino. The boys
had never done a kids club before and we weren't sure what to expect but they loved every second, didn't want to be
picked up and raced there every day after breakfast! All the activities were so well planned and the boys loved all of
the kids club team - thank you all so much! Charlotte was a fantastic manager - even before we left London she had contacted us and nothing was too much trouble when we were here either. The kids club team were amazing - Grace, Emily and Jodie all went out of their way to make sure the boys had so much fun and they forged amazing relationships with the boys all week and were so helpful at the end of the day getting all their kit to us and telling us all about there day. There were all an asset to Scott Dunn and we very much hope to see them again.
Gajda Family - June 2017 (Guest)
This is our first experience with Scott Dunn and we will have no hesitancy to travel with them again. From the initial
booking, to their huge help with cancelled flights and missing bags, through to the care the boys received at kids club,
it was truly exceptional. Charlotte was incredibly helpful and patient. I would highly recommend Scott Dunn.
Blemings Family - June 2017 (Guest)
Childcare has been amazing. Both children have been so happy with each of the nannies who looked after them. Our
2 yr old was so happy to be left each day, he was even asking at breakfast when the kids club opened. Charlotte, Grace and Shannon were all fantastic.
Alderwick Family - July 2017 (Guest)
Scott Dunn crew! Our first vacation where us adults could relax in the day. Loved that the kids did proper
activities like biking, snorkeling, scuba etc. Scott Dunn crew is fabulous! Anya and max thought it was great just wish it was sometimes a little more from 11.30 am not every day but for a few days more! Only because I have an active boy!!
Connolly Family - July 2017 (Guest)
We've booked with SD since our eldest was 5 months old and everything about the vacations is always
wonderful. Every detail is thought through.
Wilson Family - August 2017 (Guest)
Our children, aged 11 and 13 have really enjoyed the Crew Club because of the activities and the children they have met. Having children that are compatible in age has made it hugely enjoyable for our girls and made them want to go along each day. We have used Scott Dunn for numerous ski and sun vacations and the staff are so friendly and always happy to do anything asked by them. They are all very efficient.
Olivia Caveney (Staff)
This luxurious yet family friendly resort has much on offer to cater for all. Whether you may want to make full use of our fantastic kids club and steal some me time in the spa, sports center or enjoy a long lazy lunch and siesta by the pool, or whether you want to explore the local area by bike, join in the fun with the kids at the aqua park or bowling alley and diner - you wont get bored thats for sure!
The central Agora has a great selection of restaurants and bars and there are many others dotted around the resort too, so you certainly dont feel like youre limited on choice!
If you can manage a feast for lunch after filling your boots with the large selection on offer at breakfast buffet, then I highly recommend splashing out on a late lunch at Barbouni on the beach!... not only is the setting stunning with the uninterrupted sea views but the beautifully designed moving sails of a ceiling can be very hypnotising whilst sampling their gastronomic delights!
If a spot of Pampering is in order, then escape to the spa - it will fulfil the senses, relax and rejuvenate you - whether you indulge yourself in a treatment or float away in the Dead Sea thalassotherapy pools.
I didnt want to leave Costa Navarino and found myself longing to return with the rest of the family! However, it is worth noting that if you travel outside of the peak summer season, say in May, June, September or October you may come across larger groups as they do have some fantastic conference facilities on offer. It wasnt as noticeable during the day there was no real sign of them around the resort facilities, but dont be surprised if they are bustling around the Agora or one of the larger dining areas in the evening.
Hannah Fullagar (Staff)
This hotel really does have so much to offer. Its family friendly, its luxurious, it offers a brilliant choice of restaurants, a huge range of activities and of course being in Greece, its a great destination for a summer vacation!
The Romanos benefits from complete use of the facilities with its sister hotel the Westin, but offers a little more space and luxury and is less busy then the Westin. It's the perfect option for families wanting a true 5* experience with plenty going on for the kids too.
There are plenty of room options for families here, with good interconnecting options or suites proving plenty or space. With accommodation options ranging from the entry level deluxe rooms, all the way up to the villas, there's an option to suit most budgets.
Sarah O'Donnell (Staff)
The boutique Romanos is intertwined within the stunning unspoiled Peloponnese landscape, offering captivating views of the lapping Ionian Sea, award winning golf course and rolling hills.
There is a range of accommodation types, including luxury suites and villas to suit a range of families. I recommend an Infinity Suite, so you can take advantage of the room service and soak up the tranquil settings from your private infinity pool! If you want time to relax on the beach, the resort has direct access to the sandy beach with exclusive sun lounger areas, making it stress-free.
There is such a variety of dining options on offer around the resort, including authentic Greek dishes at the Souvlakerie and a new Michelin star restaurant called Pero; perfect for a treat.
The fantastic new Scott Dunn kids club suits children of all ages, combined with attentive staff, varied activities and trips to the onsite Aqua Park, beach, bowling alley and sports center... children are simply spoiled for choice.
With the children thoroughly entertained you can enjoy panoramic views from the terrace of the Anax lounge with a cocktail in hand or spend some time at the swim up pool bar, sipping on a freshly made smoothie.
The authentic Agora, only a short stroll away offers the perfect setting for a coffee and ice cream, the outdoor cinema is a great added bonus. For some real pampering, unwind with a massage or signature Messinian salt and honey scrub at the award winning Amazoe spa.
If you're looking for adventure there is a whole host of activities outside of the resort to help you explore this incredible and unspoiled landscape. Try scuba diving or snorkeling around one of the nearby islands and keep an eye out for the rare Caretta Loggerhead turtles, shipwrecks or discover the impressive local archaeological sites.
There really is something for everyone offering family fun, romance and a faultless service all within the captivating setting of the Greek region of Messinia.
Debbie Rainsford (Staff)
The Romanos has the most eye catching lobby area, with a large open plan space, flanked by wafting white sails. There is such a personal welcome on arrival giving you plenty of time to take in the views, before checking in through the nearby reception area. Rooms are furnished with a contrasting dark and light contemporary interior, and being closer to the beach, have better sea views then the Westin, located next door.
Pero is the perfect spot for breakfast, with diagonal buffet areas serving a great selection of hot and cold breakfast items. It can feel a little busy in the buffet area, so might be better to leave the pushchair outside, although there is plenty of seating outside on the wooden veranda. The Anax lounge is a must for a sunset cocktail, with the most fabulous views and great ambiance. I can highly recommend their signature cocktail, the Olive Oil Margarita! A tastebud explosion prepared with all local ingredients.
The Agora meeting place, between the Westin and the Romanos is a buzzing hub of restaurants and bars. Branco is really fun, with great music and a cool interior or for something more traditional the Taverna, serves a host of Greek specialties. The Ice cream parlour is particularly good, not quite Ben and Jerry's but still worth a visit. Try the Salted Caramel mixed with Morello cherry. Delicious! There's so much to do within the resort, from a watersports day on the beach to the Amazoe Spa, with a huge selection of treatment choices, Thalassotherapy pools', showers and hamans. If youre looking for a little more adventure, Costa Navarino Outdoors, run activity programs and cycle tours that take in the local sites, including the stunning Voidokilia beach, Polymio Waterfalls and Gialava.
Katherine Gotla (Staff)
This resort set on a remote coastline in the Peloponnese has something going on for everyone. The two hotels cater for varying budgets - I would recommend a family suite in the Romanos either garden view, ocean front or even better, with your own individual pool - and the food and drink outlets offer everything from local gyros and Italian to Lebanese and Japanese. At the Taverna you can take part in a cooking lesson preparing your own dinner before settling down to enjoy it in the shady courtyard under the olive trees.
Perhaps what is most impressive is the range of sports activities for both young and old, on land and sea, in resort and further afield. The list is endless but I would definitely check out the amazing bike 'hut' with hundreds of bikes of all sizes including baby seats and a selection of many routes you can choose from either following a guide or on your own with the help of a carefully marked local map. If you fancy taking part in the exercise classes put on by the sports center but have forgotten your trainers, worry not, as they offer the option to borrow trainers for the week for just 5. They let you keep the socks!!!
Anna Crowther (Staff)
At the Romanos there is a fleet of BMWs. Why not take one for the day and explore the local area in style?
Take a trip to the Anazoe Spa. They use all their own Anazoe products with a wide range of treatments. There are three Thalassotherapy pools to enjoy with one of the best treatments being a Thalasso bath - a purifying seawater bath combining dried seaweed and seawater crystals, great for detoxification.
Anna Crowther (Staff)
Costa Navarino has something for everyone. Whether you want to laze around in your room with a private infinity pool or take part in one of the many activities water sports, tennis, golf, biking tours, cooking classes you'll have a lovely stay here.
Take a stroll to the Agora, the main hub of the resort, just a short walk from which ever part of the resort you're staying in. Dine outside the Italian restaurant in front of the outdoor cinema and be entertained by live music films.
Have a drink at the 1827 bar, named after the battle of Navarino in, guess which year? The 1827 wine is especially delicious, served with a shot glass full of olives.
The beach is fantastic with miles of golden sand. It is windy here, keeping you cool in the hot summer months, providing the perfect conditions for the wind or kite surfing.
Your children will be entertained for hours in their fantastic childrens club. They have brilliant facilities and it is located right next to the water park and adventure playground. Lay back and relax whilst they splash around and fly down the water slides.
