The climate in Greece is warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From April/May onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May to October are particularly pleasurable months.

The impressive aqua park with 3 waterslides and adventure playground keep the little ones entertained for hours, and family activities range from bike hire to surfing or just exploring the local area. The resort has two golf courses, tennis courts, indoor sports hall, Navarino Outdoors for cycling experiences, a bowling alley as well as extensive watersports facilities. Lessons can be easily arranged and you'll find good breezes throughout the year, except in August when the wind may drop due to the heat. Please note, there are no small sailing boats for hire within the vicinity and the beach has some strong currents, so may not be suitable for very small children.
|Discover local nature||
Grab a pair of binoculars and observe the thousands of migrating birds that visit the Gialova lagoon each year. Sample the delicious wines produced by our vineyards, scenically scattered on the western hillsides close to the sea. Witness the ages-old tradition of transforming olives grown in Messinia’s verdant groves into rich, delicious olive oil—and perhaps even plant your own tree.
The resort organises many hiking tours that children as young as six can take part in. Some lasting as little as 1.5 hours, and others taking longer, they include boat trips, cooling off in the sea, visiting picturesque citadels and allowing you to explore the beautiful and historic surroundings. The pace is never strenuous and picnics are included on some of them.
The Romanos boasts the impressive seaside Dunes Course, designed by former two times US Masters Champion and Ryder Cup captain Bernhard Langer. The 18 hole championship course is set in a landscape of diverse topography with spectacular sea and river views, incorporating some links-style features and is a challenge for golfers of all levels. Each hole has multiple sets of tees to allow the player to select the course length that best suits his or her game and has a par of 71.
There are extensive practice facilities including a well-appointed full-size driving range, putting green and short-game practice area. The Navarino Golf Academy has a team of professionals available for private lessons and individual coaching lessons for both beginners and the more advanced. And instead of taking your own clubs, you can hire them at the Academy.
Just a few minutes from Navarino Dunes, at the Navarino Bay development, the Bay Course offers an alternative set of challenges and choices in a quite different setting. Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. The par 70 course places a greater emphasis on strategic play and positional golf than The Dunes Course. The Seaside, Canyon, and Grove holes will provide striking contrasts that create a dramatic and memorable golf round.
There are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills or advance existing ones with the expert tuition on offer at the resort. Escorted kayaking trips, paddleboarding, kitesurfing lessons for beginners and for the more experienced, as well as surfing in one of the best spots in Greece - try the Surfari, riding the best spots at beautiful beaches in the morning and finishing at the Surf Club in the afternoon. Windsurfing enthusiasts can take advantage of modern equipment and teaching methods.

Special programs are available for children aged 10+ which can lead to PADI certification (Junior Open Water Diver, Junior Adventure Diver, Junior Rescue Diver, etc.). In addition explore the magic of the turquoise water and experience Mediterranean aquatic life with daily snorkeling trips to Proti island.
Or why not join an experienced skipper aboard a sailing or motor yacht for a day cruise and sail the historic waters of the ancient Greeks. Want to keep the whole family happy? Then Costa Navarino is the place to go! With something for everyone at all ages it really will feels like a holiday.
With so much to do here from watersports, golf, tennis, diving, an Aqua park and even a 4,000sqm spa.
The Scott Dunn Explorers at Costa Navarino is on the Romanos side but accessible to all Scott Dunn guests regardless of where you stay but if convenience is what you need then The Romanos is for you.
In the club the children will get up to all sorts of activities making the most of what Costa Navarino has to offer from beach trips, tennis / golf lessons, aqua park / pool time. There is even our CREW Club for the older children from 11yrs, that do activities that will make you wish you were a teenager again! From a surf lesson to rock climbing to waterskiing / wakeboarding and sailing it really is a teens paradise.
If good food is important than Costa Navarino has that covered as well. From a buffet breakfast on either side of the resort that has a visit from the hawks to keep the pesky birds away from trying to steel your fresh pastries. The Romanos buffet Pero is defiantly more laid back and has a quieter feel to it with an exclusive section for those guests staying in the Ionian Exclusive rooms, whereas The Westins Morias has a slightly more busser feel with those who are keen to start their day. From lunch and dinner there are options for everyone from Da Luigi in the Agora square or Flame on the golf course or even the unique offering of Barbouni on the beach, where you can dine with your feet in the sands.
Room options at Costa Navarino are endless. At The Westin you can have anything from Deluxe Rooms to Family Suites (which can even interconnect!) and all of these options are possible with your own private pool as well. At the Romanos you can have Deluxe Rooms that can connect with or without your own private pools onto the Ionian Suites which can have your own pool or even a sea front view!
Lester Family - July 2018 (Guest)
Everything relating to Scott Dunn has been fantastic. All the Scott Dunn staff on site were great but especially Rachel and V were excellent with our children. A Scott Dunn holiday with young kids cant be beat. The staff are always so knowledgeable and professional and there is a peace of mind there that you otherwise dont get.
Wentzel Family - June 2018 (Guest)

This luxurious yet family friendly resort has much on offer to cater for all. Whether you may want to make full use of our fantastic kids club and steal some me time in the spa, sports centre or enjoy a long lazy lunch and siesta by the pool, or whether you want to explore the local area by bike, join in the fun with the kids at the aqua park or bowling alley and diner - you wont get bored thats for sure!
The central Agora has a great selection of restaurants and bars and there are many others dotted around the resort too, so you certainly dont feel like youre limited on choice!
If you can manage a feast for lunch after filling your boots with the large selection on offer at breakfast buffet, then I highly recommend splashing out on a late lunch at Barbouni on the beach!... not only is the setting stunning with the uninterrupted sea views but the beautifully designed moving sails of a ceiling can be very hypnotising whilst sampling their gastronomic delights!
If a spot of Pampering is in order, then escape to the spa - it will fulfil the senses, relax and rejuvenate you - whether you indulge yourself in a treatment or float away in the Dead Sea thalassotherapy pools.
I didnt want to leave Costa Navarino and found myself longing to return with the rest of the family! However, it is worth noting that if you travel outside of the peak summer season, say in May, June, September or October you may come across larger groups as they do have some fantastic conference facilities on offer. It wasnt as noticeable during the day there was no real sign of them around the resort facilities, but dont be surprised if they are bustling around the Agora or one of the larger dining areas in the evening.
