Chalet Chinchilla epitomizes everything that you expect from a ski chalet in terms of classic alpine design and wonderfully comfortable accommodation. But as far as this chalet is concerned, it's the location which sets it apart from others - a stone's throw from the Cospillot piste and a short walk to the center of the resort, makes it an ideal choice for anyone keen to ski virtually to and from the door of their chalet each day.

Scott Dunn pioneered skiing vacations with childcare, allowing parents the freedom to ski whilst their children are expertly looked after by a qualified private nanny. Our handpicked childcare team are qualified professionals, whose enthusiasm and nurturing abilities are in abundance, so much so that both parents and children often ask to take them home. In our Courchevel chalets, our private nannies look after children from as young as four months, making sure the entire family has a relaxed, fun and memorable vacation. They organize age appropriate activities and can take the older ones to and from ski school, allowing you to spend all day on the slopes. A nutritious lunch is served each day, as well as healthy snacks, with any dietary requirements taken into account and your child’s routine will be strictly adhered to. We can also provide a wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers on request, including nappies and wipes, usually free of charge. And if you’d like to go out in the evening, we can provide babysitting.
All our Scott Dunn nannies are fully qualified (CACHE trained or similar) and are carefully selected for their natural ability with children and their nurturing and fun approach. We provide rigorous pre-season training which includes a paediatric first aid course, water safety and spending time with our chefs learning how to prepare nutritious snacks and lunches. Available for five days a week, they ensure your children enjoy a range of activities, whilst adhering to their home routines. They can also take children to, and collect from ski school each day.
Babysitting can be arranged in the evenings and is chargeable by the hour (€20 for the first hour, then €10 per hour until midnight, and €20 per hour thereafter).
Chalet Chinchilla has an open plan living area with French windows giving access to the terrace which surrounds the chalet on three sides.
The open plan sitting and dining room has a large flatscreen TV with UK channels, a DVD player and Apple TV.
South facing terrace with mountain views.
Please note that the garages are not available for guests' use however there is plenty of parking available on the road in front of the chalet.
|GoPro HD camera||
All our chalets come with a GoPro HD camera. Film your exploits on the pistes and watch the results on screen in the chalet at the end of the day. Attached to a chest harness, these devices are really easy to use, and are a fun way to see where you've skied that day, or how your children are now skiing better than you! We can also provide you with a memory stick (at a small charge) for you to edit your own film after your vacation.
Courchevel has a reputation as a place for rock stars and royalty but make no mistake, it is one of the world’s premier ski resorts with good reason. The skiing has breadth and depth that is unequalled. The extent of the Three Valleys combined with perfectly groomed runs, vertiginous off-piste couloirs, gentle runs at village level and much admired tree skiing mean Courchevel has lots for skiers of all standards.
If skiing is just a sideshow for you, the boutiques and art galleries will keep you occupied until it is lunchtime at one of Courchevel’s many fine restaurants. Most renowned eateries including Cap Horn, Chalet de Pierres, Bel Air and Soucoupe are accessible by road or by gondola.
Apart from skiing, the village has plenty to offer. We recommend a flight from the famous altiport or a cookery course with Michel Rochedy, the Michelin starred chef at Le Chabichou. The toboggan run to 1550 is another favorite. There is a farmers’ market on Wednesdays and the Forum is home to an Olympic ice rink, bowling alley, climbing wall and small gym. Paragliding, horse drawn carriage rides, forest walks, show-shoeing, cross-country skiing, ice karting and hot-air balloon rides are also possible.
Courchevel hosts special events including the International Pyrotechnic Festival, the most impressive fireworks display you will ever see, and ski-jumping competitions at the Olympic ski jump in Le Praz.

Location & Directions
Courchevel 1850, France
Chalet Chinchilla enjoys a very central location in Courchevel 1850, near the Croisette. The Cospillot piste is 100 yards from the chalet giving access to the entire Trois Vallées.
When to go
Courchevel offers a great balance of high and medium altitude and predominantly north-facing slopes to offer excellent skiing throughout the winter. In December, huge capacity for artificial snowmaking and the connection to the Val Thorens valley make good skiing probable. Courchevel really comes into its own from January to March, typically seeing regular snowfalls. When it gets really cold, runs to the lower villages are bearable and come spring time, north-facing pitches hold up well.
