Villa Marie St Barths is the newest luxury hotel from Maisons & Hotels Sibuet and the sister hotel to Villa Marie in St Tropez. Perched in the hills with fabulous sea views, this colonial-style property is surrounded by a verdant tropical garden creating an intimate and charming property.
Villa Marie has only 21 bungalows and villas, each offering its own distinct style with signature decor. Whether bright sky blue, pineapple yellow, hibiscus pink or jungle green, each vibrant color scheme is offset by whitewashed walls and perfectly blended with the unique furnishings and exotic textiles that have been carefully handpicked for each room. Each bungalow has it's own furnished terrace with garden or ocean views. The Master Villas boast expansive terraces, private pools and panoramic ocean views.
Hidden amongst the palm trees, Villa Marie's outdoor swimming pool is perfect for a refreshing swim or to while away an afternoon relaxing on a sun lounger with a cool refreshment. The Pure Altitude Spa offers a multitude of indulgent treatments and focuses on wellness that incorporates nature and local botanicals. The François Plantation restaurant, named in homage to the hotel's predecessor, serves exquisite French gastronomic delights alongside reinterpreted heirloom Caribbean recipes and the hotel also has a cosy bar offering a vast selection of rums and Cuban cigars.
Each bungalow and villa at Villa Marie has been individually designed and claims a distinct style, with unique personalities featuring a main color and tropical flora and fauna such as parrots, pineapples, jungle foliage and hibiscus. Coupled with contemporary white walls and handcrafted furniture sourced from all over the world, these rooms offer a luxury yet boho chic ambiance.
These bright and colorful rooms are 45m² in size and have their own distinct exotic style. They feature grand four-poster king-size beds, a beautiful bathroom with individual claw-foot bathtubs and sea shell mirrors and a furnished terrace overlooking the garden and pool.
The 49m² Caribbean Bungalows are decorated in a chic tropical style and feature either a grand four-poster bed or majestic headboard, beautiful bathroom with individual claw-foot bathtubs and separate shower and a large furnished terrace overlooking the magnificent Flamands Bay.
The 49m² Tropics Bungalows are designed in a boho chic style and feature custom made furniture, handmade headboards and beautiful bathrooms with individual claw-foot bathtubs and separate showers. The main feature of this room type, however, is the spacious suspended furnished terrace which gives breathtaking panoramic ocean views.
|Prestige Caribbean Bungalow||
The Prestige Caribbean Bungalows are a more spacious 54m² and offer the added feature of a separate living area, which in some of these room types can accommodate an extra guest. Designed with bright colors and exotic printed fabrics, these rooms feature a grand four-poster king-size bed or majestic headboard, a beautiful bathroom with individual claw-foot bathtub and separate shower and a large furnished terrace with ocean views.
The Family Bungalows are a spacious 76m² and feature a master bedroom with king-size bed and a separate small room with bunk beds for 2 children. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with individual claw-foot bathtub and separate shower, and there is a second bathroom with shower. An expansive furnished terrace gives stunning views of Flamands Bay.
|Master Villa with Pool||
The 225m² Master Villas are located at the very top of the property affording the best sea views from the huge terrace which also includes a private 10-meter swimming pool. The interior of the villa houses a large communal living area and two ensuite bedrooms, both with king-size beds and bathrooms with individual claw foot bathtubs and separate showers. The master bathroom has the added feature of a private outdoor decked garden area, housing the bathtub.
Children are welcome at Villa Marie. There are no specific facilities on-site for children but the hotel can organize babysitting on request. A baby welcome kit is available for 30€ per day.
Tradition lives on in the hotel's restaurant the 'François Plantation' - named after the boutique hotel that was transformed into Villa Marie in November 2016. Serving a sophisticated and elegant French cuisine, inspired by Provence, the Mediterranean and infused with Caribbean flavors, the well-known François Plantation is the perfect place to enjoy some delicious lobster flambéed with aged rum, or roasted bluefin tuna with local spices followed by the sweet notes of coconut cream or flambéed bananas. The bar serves the finest rums of the region, signature cocktails and an exceptional selection of Cubans from the on-site humidor.
The hotel's Pure Altitude Spa is the perfect place to relax and unwind, with a signature spa line incorporating the benefits of mountain plants and minerals. The spa has 2 treatment rooms, a steam room and a fitness suite and offers a range of treatments designed to immerse guests in an ocean of well-being. The hotel has a swimming pool located in the heart of a beautiful tropical garden with cacti, mango trees and flowering bougainvillea.

Villa Marie is located in the hills above Colombier, overlooking Flamands Bay in the north west of the island of St Barths in the French West Indies.
When to go
Offering warm temperatures throughout the year the Caribbean is a perfect year round destination. With an average of 9 hours sunshine a day the peak season runs from December through to April which is the dry season when you can expect very little rainfall. May to November are the slightly wetter months where you will find an increase in rainfall as the summer season goes on and with that some humidity, however the Summer months are still a great time to travel as the temperatures are hot and the rain tends to come in short heavy bursts but not all day long. The wettest months with the most humidity are September and October and these are the most probable months for hurricanes to occur in the region although many islands have not experienced hurricanes for a number of years. The average daily temperatures range from the mid-seventies in the winter months and mid-eighties in the summertime.
