Average time to visit
The only time to avoid Kenya is during the long rainy season in April and May. November is considered the short rainy season, however, these are less predictable and are much lighter. The best time of year to visit the Maasai Mara is during the Great Wildebeest Migration which tends to pass through the Mara between mid July to late October.

Naibor Wilderness is set in a secluded section of riverine forest along the banks of the Talek River in the heart of the Maasai Mara Reserve. With only three double tents it is a perfect choice for those looking for exclusivity and privacy.
Naibor Wilderness, the sister camp to neighbours Naibor and Little Naibor, is the ultimate in camping-luxury. Naibor Wilderness is the most simple of the three camps, but the style, level of service and location is uncompromised, creating an unforgettable experience for all who visit.
Each tent is large and spacious; each with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. There is a generous covered area around the tent to relax in the shade with a book during the heat of the day and enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush from your room.
Meals are taken in settings with spectacular views either in the private mess tent, or set up in private dining tents on the high banks of the river.
Set in the heart of the Maasai Mara and close to many of the main wildebeest river crossing points, guests at Naibor Wilderness are assured fantastic year round game viewing. Furthermore, with easy access to the quiet southerly plains, guests also experience amazingly private game viewing experiences as it is a difficult area for other camps to access.
Guests at Naibor Wilderness are cared for by a small select team who are on hand to look after your every need. One safari vehicle, complete with a built in fridge for ice cold drinks, and a highly trained specialist guide is allocated to Naibor Wilderness. So only those staying in this small camp will join one another on game drives.
Just three luxurious double tents are set in the secluded riverine woodland along the banks of the Talek River. Each enjoys unique views of the surrounding bush and wildlife from the shady verandah.
The tents are furnished with solid, antique campaign furniture. All are en-suite with his and hers wash basins, flush loos and safari style showers, filled with piping hot water on request.
Bush meals are a popular choice at Naibor. A break in a game drive for a bush breakfast, or a romantic private dinner outside your tent out under the stars can easily be arranged.
For those who are interested, Naibor Wilderness offers guests the opportunity to experience a dawn hot air balloon flight across the open grass lands with a champagne breakfast on landing.
It is worth noting that Naibor Wilderness can be used in conjunction with the other Naibor properties for those interested in bringing a large family and/or group of friends to this special area of the Mara.

Horseback safaris are the most exciting way to see the bush and in Kenya they are without a doubt the most exciting and adventurous safari you can do.
