A year round destination. The major tourist season is during the summer (July and August). However, in terms of weather, the months just before and after the busy tourist season may be the best time to head to Lake Garda.

A stylish boutique hotel on the shores of Lake Garda in Northern Italy. The Lido Palace dates back to 1899 and has reinvented itself as a modern, luxurious hotel with an extensive spa, beautiful gardens and gourmet dining.
This stylish hotel offers a luxurious base to explore Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. With just 42 rooms, you can be assured of attention to detail and exceptional service. The hotel dates back to 1899 and has played host to Italian royalty in the Belle Epoque era. Today the hotel has been totally modernised whilst retaining historical features, and blends the old and new in a unique way. A glass atrium to the front lets in the light and beautiful natural surroundings, leading onto a lawn that looks towards the lake shore.
The rooms are modern in their design, with minimalist decor combining bright whites and bold colours, making the most of the natural light and large windows.
The hotel is surrounded by extensive parkland, with beautiful trees, lawns and walkways to explore. The Centoundici Spa is extensive and boasts a range of treatments and therapies, indoor and outdoor pool, whirlpool and natural solarium.
Choose from two restaurants to dine in; Tremani serves delicious and healthy lunches whilst Il Re Della Busa offers elegant dining with an emphasis on seafood. Menus are designed to make use of the freshest ingredients by Michelin-starred chef Giuseppe Sestito. For a relaxed pre- or post-dinner drink, the Bali bar serves a great selection of cocktails and wines.
Do bear in mind that there is no direct lake access from the hotel. Guests must walk to the lakeside by leaving the property though this takes less than 10 minutes and once there you have access to the lake beach and watersports.
Lido Palace offers 42 rooms, including 8 Suites and 6 Junior Suites. Rooms feature modern and sober decoration with warm brown tones, bespoke furniture and large windows that open to breathtaking views of Lake Garda. Corian bathrooms include a deep European soaking tub with rainforest shower, bidet and steam-resistant mirrors.
All rooms are equipped with latest technology on climate control, safe, Satellite flat screen TV, free WiFi and a writing-working desk.
There are no specific childcare facilities here but families are welcome. The deluxe rooms can accommodate a cot, and the junior suites and other suite categories can accommodate an extra bed. Some of the premier rooms are interconnecting with a deluxe room.
With both the lake and the mountains on your doorstep, there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the local area. Go sailing or windsurfing on the lake, mountain biking and hiking in the mountains and rock climbing on the nearby cliffs. There are four clay tennis courts next to the hotel. The charming town of Riva del Garda is a lovely place to take a stroll, exploring its historic buildings. Keen golfers will enjoy the driving range at Altogarda nearby, and there is an 18 hole course at Bogliaco just 35 kilometres away, in a picturesque valley.

Set in a leafy section of Riva Del Garda, Lido Palace makes a great base from which to explore the beautiful lake region. This boutique hotel has 42 rooms and many of these offer views over the lake and gardens. The contemporary dcor throughout the hotel gives the rooms a fresh and spacious feel. My room was spacious and comfortable with a large bathroom and window overlooking the lake. The hotel offers a spa with an indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzis and treatment rooms. This hotel is suitable for all ages but I would recommend it for couples or families with older children.
