Belmond Hotel Cipriani

Venice, Italy

At a Glance

  • The iconic Cipriani, exuding vintage and glamour, can be found on the tip of Giudecca Island, just four minutes from the hustle and bustle of San Marco. The exclusivity of the hotel’s location is what sets the Belmond Cipriani apart from the rest.

  • Rather exceptionally for Venice, the Cipriani boasts lush private gardens and a large outdoor pool, perfect during those warmer months after a long morning of sightseeing.

  • Explore the beauties of the lagoon aboard the hotel’s private boat, “Shirley”, a splendid wooden vessel commanded by a knowledgeable captain, available upon request

  • Cipriani’s Gabbiano Bar commands unrivalled views of the lagoon and Doge’s Palace, the perfect place for a pre-dinner aperitif before the opportunity to indulge in Cipriani’s Michelin Starred Gastronomy.

  • We recommend the Palladio Suite, a true showpiece of the hotel. The suite appears to be suspended above the water, with 180-degree views of the lagoon with floor-to-ceiling windows and a plunge pool on a private terrace.

Insider's View

For the most romantic view in all of Venice, reserve a table outside at Cip's Club and watch the world go by as the sun sets over the Doge's Palace and St Mark's Square.

Sip on a cocktail designed by Mr Clooney - La Nina's Passion is named after his mother and combines sparkling wine with elderflower and passionfruit.

Cip's Club is the perfect lunch spot overlooking the main canal. Don't miss their fresh seafood salads and the special cocktails only found at the Cipriani.

The pool is Olympic-sized but not on purpose, the builders mistook the architect's measurements for metres when it should have been in feet.

The Cipriani is lucky enough to have a huge garden, meaning all the herbs in cocktails and food is sourced from just outside the back door.

Taking the private boat from St Mark's Square to Giudecca island is all part of the stylish experience!

Theo the rabbit hops freely around the beautiful manicured gardens, great for little ones in case they are missing their fluffy friends at home!

Pippa Carey (Staff)

Nestled away in its own quiet corner of Venice, Belmond Hotel Cipriani oozes exclusivity and tranquility, despite being moments from the heart of the hustle and bustle in St Mark's Square. Located on Giudecca Island, the hotel boasts one of the only swimming pools in Venice, an abundance of manicured gardens and outdoor space galore. Every room has some form of outdoor space, allowing guests to watch the sunset over the Lagoon from the comfort of their own room. Despite its quiet location, the Cipriani has a real buzz about it, with people coming and going and fellow guests making good use of the restaurants and bars in the hotel. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and have the perfect balance of Venetian style without being over the top. This hotel oozes sophistication, much like its guests, yet remains friendly and open to all. Both families and older couples mix well, mainly due to the abundance of space this property has to offer. I have been fortunate enough to see most of the properties we work with in Venice, but none are anything like the Cipriani, it really is totally exclusive and perfectly balanced.

Anne White (Staff)

Enjoying a Bellini on the terrace overlooking the lagoon and St Mark's Square is not to be missed. This is the place to see and experience Venice in style.

It's no surprise that fans of the Cipriani return year after year. It's lovely to see the staff greeting their guests like long lost friends.
