Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – dry (between May to September) and wet (between October to April) – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Bali at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.

I stayed at The Legian my last night in Bali, and I think they saved the best for last. Although Seminyak beach is the liveliest beach I came across in Bali, somehow The Legian managed to keep themselves out of the hubbub but still within a 2 minute walking distance to all the fun shops and restaurants Seminyak is known for. Every room in the resort is ocean facing, so there isn't a bad view in sight! The incredible service feels pure and genuine as each member of the staff is encouraged to remember every guest's name. It was the perfect end to my trip with a great night's rest falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing onto shore.

If you are there for a full moon make sure you speak to the hotel staff and ask them where would be best to watch the turtle's hatching on the beach. It really is a magical and surreal experience.

This is a really wonderful property in very close proximity to the centre of Seminyak town. The hotel sits right by the coast so offers amazing views across the Indian Ocean. Enjoy beachfront dining at The Restaurant which serves both Balinese and international fare, relax by the large infinity pool or enjoy a complimentary yoga class in the hotels gardens. The suites here are extremely spacious and elegantly designed with a large outdoor patio, deep indoor soak bath and a very comfortable living area. If youre looking for somewhere more private, then the Club at the Legian is a great choice as they offer luxurious private pool villas.

Simple and chic, this hotel is one of my absolute favourites on this popular stretch of beach. They pay attention to the important things, such as seamless service, beautiful suites, fantastic facilities and most importantly, complimentary afternoon tea & cake! The three tired main swimming pools and pool bar sit just above the beach from where you can relax and enjoy the views and sound of the crashing waves. The suites are enormous and beautifully designed, with some great family options. For those wanting more tranquillity and a private pool, the Club at the Legian is just across the road, so set back from the beach and provides a peaceful retreat. Their attention to detail means you benefit from small perks such as arrival canaps and iced coconut water in the gym, which go a long way.

Enjoy one of the two daily yoga sessions to feel energized and ready to explore what Seminyak has to offer. The Legian is a stylish, all suite hotel built on 4 floors with a real contemporary, international theme. The rooms here are appointed with all modern comforts and stylishly decorated, with the most amazing ocean views. The property also boasts a fantastic pool and several excellent dining options, along with a Spa should you feel the need for some pampering! Kids (both young and old!) can take full advantage of the famous Balinese waves with surfing lessons on the beach. Or if you want to really chill out, partake in the complimentary twice-daily Yoga sessions or spend time wandering around the boutique-lined streets of Seminyak, which are a short walk or complimentary transfer from the hotel. The Legian has a really fun and friendly atmosphere, combined with amazingly stylish accommodation and great service and is one of our favourites on the Balinese coast for couples and families alike.
