Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Bali enjoys a warm tropical climate all year round, with a distinct wet and a dry season. Bali’s dry season spans from April to September, with the wet season starting in October and generally lasting until March. Characterised by hot temperatures and clear skies, the dry season is considered to be the best time to visit Bali. In particular, months at the start or the end of the dry season benefit from fewer crowds and slightly cooler temperatures than often present during July and August. Bali’s wet season is characterised by bursts of tropical downpours interspersed with sunny spells, as opposed to constant torrential rain. Those visiting Bali during the wet season can benefit from reduced crowds at major sites, as well as cooler temperatures and less humidity in the central highlands.

One of Bali’s first boutique hotels, the Tanjung Sari has a prime location, set within tropical gardens on Sanur’s beachfront, offering a fusion of contemporary style and traditional Balinese architecture, with a welcoming and relaxing vibe.

First established in 1962, the Tanjung Sari initially started as a four-bungalow extension to the family home of Wija Wawo-Runtu to house visiting family and friends. Since then, it has flourished and now comprises 29 traditional-style bungalows, all tastefully-decorated in traditional Balinese style with a lovely selection of crafts and antiques. The location, at Sanur beach on Bali’s southeast coast, means it is only a short stroll to a range of bars, shops and restaurants. It is a 10-minute drive from the capital city, Denspasar and around 25-minutes from the international airport, Ngurah Rai.

The bungalows, shaded by the trees, are dotted throughout the attractive tropical garden and have been built in traditional style with thatch-roofs, private gardens and lounging pavilions, but with all the comforts of modern living including polished wood interiors, spacious beds, modern bathrooms and air-conditioning.

There is a bar and open-air restaurant located around the pool and beach area, serving authentic local and international dishes. At dusk, lanterns are lit creating a romantic fairy-tale atmosphere. There is a friendly beachside area that flows around the 15-metre salt water infinity pool and swimming towels are provided. Here you will find the Bale Beton, an open-air lounge where local children practise Balinese dance on Friday and Sunday afternoons. Guests may also want to hang out in the library, a lovely lounge area with a good selection of books and board games, or there’s the option to work up a sweat in the gym. The beach here is lovely and unlike some parts of the coastline, great for swimming making Tanjung Sari is a wonderful spot for a relaxed family holiday, or for couples looking for a beachside location.
