Shergarh is a small family-run camp of just six tasteful tents with en suite bathroom facilities, set apart for privacy, and in a young woodland around a picturesque lake. Shergarh is ideally located for the less busy Mukki gate of Kanha National Park.

Shergarh Tented Camp has a relaxed welcoming atmosphere, the hosts Jehan and Katie have created a lovely family atmosphere. The six tents are comfortable and homely, canvas under locally handmade baked mud tiles which shading the tents from the sun and provide insulation when it's cold. Each tent has a mud-finished verandah to a large bedroom, either twin or double bedded with space for an extra bed if required. Each tent has ensuite shower rooms which are spacious, with separate toilet and shower rooms, as well as plenty of luggage-storage and hanging space.
The central water body attracts plentiful birdlife, which guests can observe from their verandahs. The camp is just 20 minutes drive from the less busy Mukki Gate of Kanha National Park, and Shergarh includes morning and afternoon game drives in the park, in front-facing 4x4 open jeeps, accompanied by in-camp naturalists. There are several other wildlife centric activities on offer:Forest, hill and river walks in the buffer zone; cycle rides; Gond tribal village and market walks.
Wholesome home cooking is on offer at Shergarh: light salad lunches from fresh ingredients from their garden and local markets; and dinners are traditional but delicately flavoured Indian dishes continental cuisine is available on request). Dining is a communal affair, where guests share the wildlife stories of the day, congregating in the main house, or under the large mango tree.
