Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Provence enjoys a pleasant, Mediterranean climate. On average, Provence gets 300 days of sunshine each year, with warm but mild temperatures. Summer is high season here, with August bringing the hottest weather and the biggest crowds. Spring is a great time of year, the weather is warm, with temperatures swaying between 16 and 20°C, and the crowds are small. If you want to see lavender fields then it would be best to visit the region in June. In October the weather starts to cool. Autumn is also the start of the wettest weeks of the year. October sees an average of 3.7 inches of rain, with an average of three inches following in November. Still, it never gets all that chilly and snow is rare. Hotel Crillon Le Brave is closed in January and February.

Located in the heart of the Alpilles and Provence, in a 2-hectare park in the centre of Saint Remy de Provence, Hotel de L’Image is a young and trendy town-centre hotel which often features art exhibitions. Nearby there is excellent hiking and vineyards.

The hotel was originally an old Music Hall from the 1970s, and you will find acknowledgments to the building’s past in the projector in the entrance hall as well as the many photography books you will find around the hotel. Les Terrasses de L’image is the hotel’s gourmet restaurant and serves up beautifully-presented dishes using seasonal produce. There is also a stylish cocktail lounge bar, which is a popular spot for locals to enjoy an aperitif or perhaps sample a local wine.

Rooms range from the traditionally-styled standard and deluxe rooms, which feature views over the rooftops to the larger, modern-style Terrace rooms and suites with fantastic views over the hotels gardens out onto the Alpilles. The spacious park, where the hotel is located, contains an outdoor heated swimming pool, a French bowling ground and a cinema, and there is also a spa with an indoor heated swimming pool, hammam and gym located 900 metres away.

Nearby there is plenty of hiking as well as horse-riding, quad-biking and golf. The hotel is also ideally located to explore the fields and vineyards of Saint Remy de Provence and the Alpilles. Other wineries of the Rhone valley are also close by including Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueryras. You can also visit a local olive oil mill and, from June to August, immerse yourself in the beautiful lavender route. You can even rent electric bikes from the hotel as a great way to explore the local area.
