Set on a private island just off the coast of Bandol, Zannier Île de Bendor captures the Mediterrenean spirit while feeling wonderfully secluded. A short seven-minute boat ride from the mainland brings you to a seven-hectare retreat of pine-fringed paths, little coves and village-style lanes overlooking the Mediterranean. From here, it is easy to combine slow island days with visits to nearby vineyards, the markets of Provence and the wider Côte d’Azur, with Marseille, Toulon and pretty coastal towns all within comfortable reach.
The resort unfolds as a Provençal-inspired hamlet rather than a traditional hotel, with 93 rooms, suites and houses spread across three distinct areas: Delos, Soukana and Madrague Houses. Delos channels 1960s Riviera glamour with sculptural details, striped textiles and views over the village square. Soukana, with its Mediterrenean style feels softer and more grounding, with an earthy palette and rooms that open towards the sea or the island’s sculpted rocks, while the five two-storey Madrague houses, once old fishermens' houses, offer private gardens and a homely layout that works especially well for families or longer stays. Across all categories, expect king-size beds, serene natural tones and pared-back styling that places the views centre stage.

Three main restaurants, Le Grand Large, Nonna Bazaar and Soukana Restaurant, four bars and lounges, and a creperie are scattered across the island, encouraging relaxed grazing throughout the day. Le Grand Large pairs far-reaching sea views with refined menus and visiting chefs, Delos offers dining by the main pool, and Café Paul Ricard celebrates Provençal classics in an atmosphere that nods to the island’s storied past. With stays typically on a bed and breakfast basis, there is ample flexibility to dine around as you please.
Wellbeing sits at the heart of Zannier Île de Bendor. A 1,200m² holistic wellness centre, one of the largest in the region, combines influences from Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine and naturopathy, and includes eight treatment rooms, steam room, cold bath, mud bath, Iyashi dome, and both indoor and outdoor pools.
