Winter is the perfect time to visit Finnish Lapland. The winter temperatures can vary anywhere between 0°C and -40°C. The average temperature in January is -14°C, but the cold is not biting because the air is dry. There can be as much as one metre of snow and it usually lasts until May. There is potential for Northern Lights viewing throughout the winter months.

Situated near to Levi ski resort Northern Lights Village Levi provides a collection of glass-roofed Aurora cabins, nestled in forest woodland, perfect for sleeping under the stars in hopes of catching a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights.
The cosy Aurora cabins feature twin or double beds and can sleep up to 4 people, each cabin has its own bathroom with a toilet and shower. The highlight of the cabin is the slanted glass ceiling featuring state of the art laser-heated windows to ensure that the snow does not obstruct your views of the starry night sky!As well as the 40 Aurora cabins the Northern Lights Village Levi also features a buffet restaurant and sauna as well as a wide range of activities on offer including a toboggan run! The buffet restaurant serves up local dishes from Lapland and the Barent Sea region for a authentic taste of local flavour.
If you would prefer to set out in search of the Northern Lights the hotel offers a range of excursions where an expert guide will take you to the best spots to search for the Northern Lights, including a photography workshop where we’ll arrange for an experienced photographer to accompany you so you can capture the best images. Other options include aurora hunting by snowmobile, snowshoe or heated sleigh.
Away from the hotel nearby Levi is a lively ski resort, with a range of ski runs as well as a small town with restaurants, shops and bars to explore.
Please be aware that due to the ecological status of Northern Lights Village hot water supply in the cabins is limited to 10–15 minutes at a time, in intervals of 30 Minutes
The buffet restaurant serves local dishes from Lapland and the Barent Sea region.
Northern Lights Village Levi has a vast range of activities on offer including Aurora hunting with a photographer guide, or by heated sleigh. We can also arrange for you to visit a reindeer farm, go husky sledding or explore the nature by snowmobile.
