Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Egypt enjoys a mild climate, making it a good year round destination. However, temperatures increase as you travel due south. Cairo can be chilly between December and February, and very hot between June and September. But the heat in Egypt is made bearable by the northerly breeze that leads to a drop in temperature at night. Peak temperatures in Upper Egypt occur between May and October, and are accompanied by extremely low humidity. The best time to visit Cairo is in the cooler months between November and March

Cairo has long-standing populations of major religious groups and past colonial powers, so it’s possible to find celebrations for most every major holiday. Islam, however, is the prevailing force here, and the month of Ramadan is one of the most pronounced Islamic holidays. It happens in July or August, and during this time, some shops and restaurants may stay closed during the daytime fast.

Located on Alexandria's famous corniche, the Four Seasons Alexandria commands views of the Mediterranean with its own private beach and excellent facilities. The interiors are sumptuously comfortable and there is a wide range of restaurants and lounges.

The Four Seasons Alexandria is without doubt the most luxurious and exclusive hotel in the city. Located at the front of the San Stefano Mall, with extensive views of the Mediterranean and access to its own private beach, the Four Seasons suits both couples and families alike.

With 118 rooms, including 31 suites, and 9 restaurants and lounges, the Four Seasons has world-class facilities and very comfortable surroundings. The beach, reached by a private underpass, and the outdoor pool are open and serviced during the summer months. An indoor pool and a spa are open year-round.

Founded in 331BC by Alexander the Great, not huge amounts of evidence remain of Alexandria's history but what does remain is well worth a visit, including the Catacombs, Pompey's Pillar and the Citadel of Qaitbey. Approximately a 70-mile drive along the coast lies El Alamein, site of the turning point of World War II, where Field Marshall Montgomery's forces faced Rommel's in 1942. Well worth a visit, tourists can see the museum and war cemeteries although one cannot set foot on the battlefield itself.

Alexandria also is home to a rich cafe culture with 'qahwas' lining the corniche where locals drink Turkish coffee and play dominoes and backgammon into the night. Alexandria's location on the Mediterranean also means that the city plays home to the best seafood in the country.
