Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Egypt enjoys a mild climate, making it a good year round destination. However, temperatures increase as you travel due south. Cairo can be chilly between December and February, and very hot between June and September. But the heat in Egypt is made bearable by the northerly breeze that leads to a drop in temperature at night. Peak temperatures in Upper Egypt occur between May and October, and are accompanied by extremely low humidity. The best time to visit Cairo is in the cooler months between November and March

Cairo has long-standing populations of major religious groups and past colonial powers, so it’s possible to find celebrations for most every major holiday. Islam, however, is the prevailing force here, and the month of Ramadan is one of the most pronounced Islamic holidays. It happens in July or August, and during this time, some shops and restaurants may stay closed during the daytime fast.

Description

A characterful lodge designed to offer authentic Nubian hospitality in an outstanding natural setting, Eskaleh Nubian Ecolodge is a fantastic choice for those who want traditional accommodation in the shadow of one of Egypt’s best-known historical sites.

Eskaleh Nubian Ecolodge enjoys a tranquil waterfront setting with terraces and gardens to soak up the views. Just a few minutes’ drive from the famous temples of Abu Simbel, it occupies a wonderful location in the heart of Egypt’s history and culture.

The lodge’s friendly owners set-up the accommodation with a view to preserving Nubian culture through its architecture and food. Guests can enjoy traditionally decorated rooms, and fresh, local food in the Nubian style dining room. There is a private beach area at the lodge, as well as a communal terrace and gardens overlooking Lake Nasser. We think this is a lovely place to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. There’s also a shared lounge for that quiet moment with a book. The temples of Abu Simbel are a short drive away, and Lake Nasser boat trips are within walking distance.
