Situated just a 5-minute walk to Dubrovnik Old Town, and offering comfortable, elegant accommodation with stunning vistas of the island of Lokrum and Dubrovnik Old Town, the Hotel Excelsior is one of the area's most prestigious hotels.

The Excelsior has three restaurants. This recently refurbished Dubrovnik hotel offers a luxurious retreat from the hustle and bustle of the busy old town. The hotel is divided in two sections, the original 1913 section of the hotel Villa Odak and the more modern part, the Tower. The guest rooms and the common areas have all undergone a full refurbuishment and the result is spectaucular. The classic and modern design will appeal to almost everyone and the fresh decor feels elegant and cosy. I stayed in an Executive Suite in the Tower and it was spacious with a king bedroom, a full sized living room and luxurious and spacious bathroom and a large terrace overlooking Lokrum Island and Dubrovnik Old Town. The hotel has a full service spa with a large indoor pool and fitness centre, 3 restuarants, a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and the old town and a seaside platform to lounge by the sea. The hotel is less than a ten minute walk from the historic old town and the concierge can arrange tours and transfers as needed. We enjoyed dinner at Sensus, the fine dining restaurant and the meal was superb. The service during our stay throughout the hotel  was exceptional. I think this is one of the best options in busy Dubrovnik.

Following their recent refurbishment this is definitely now one of, if not the, best place to stay in Dubrovnik. All of the rooms have an exceptionally high standard of facilities and amenities, with the dcor and finishing being modern yet keeping a very homely feel throughout. The suites on the Odak side of the property have wonderful high ceilings and coupled with the incredibly large balconies means the rooms do feel very spacious, and you can completely relax and unwind after a day of exploring the Old Town.

The views from the terrace are absolutely outstanding and with plenty of areas to relax this is the perfect place to enjoy the delicious Croatian wine and enjoy the sunset. Food is such an important part of the holiday for me and the breakfast at Hotel Excelsior certainly didnt disappoint with a huge selection available ranging from traditional English breakfast to Croatian honey there is something for everyone!

Amber Hopkins (Staff)

Of all the hotels visited in Dubrovnik this had by far the most impressive views of the old town, absolutely spectacular! Their indoor pool, spa and gym are vast and in excellent condition, and they have a spacious outdoor deck where you can relax by the waters edge after a long day on your feet sightseeing. They're planning on refurbishing the hotel this winter ready for next summer to brighten the interior decor and modernise all room categories which will be really interesting to see the results of. I'd highly recommend guests staying here reserve a table at the neighbouring Villa Orsula's Victoria restaurant one evening and request a terrace edge table so you can marvel at the old town whilst enjoying some delicious Peruvian Fusion cuisine and local Croatian wines.
