Hotel Excelsior has been operating since 1913 is benefiting from a total refurbishment in 2016 and 2017. It is a very classy hotel which has a wonderful sense of history about it and has attracted visitors such as the British royal family, Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie Onassis.
The Excelsior has 158 rooms including a separate villa, Villa Agave. The rooms are elegantly designed and most have a sea view with some enjoying unforgettable views over to the sun soaked white walls of the old town.
The Excelsior has three restaurants. Salin is the hotel’s main restaurant with a beautiful al fresco terrace, Sensus Fine Dining Restaurant offers the finest choice of contemporary dishes and Prora Beach Restaurant is a fine dining Mediterranean a-la-carte restaurant. Guests can relax after dinner in the Abakus Piano Bar which serves choice light bites in an intimate atmosphere with astonishing views or enjoy a drink during sundown on the terrace.
The hotel is located a few steps away from the old city center which means you can enjoy the culture and amenities the city has the offer but also the serene and peaceful location of the hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.
With its location right on the water’s edge, there is a lovely terrace with sun-loungers and direct access into the sea along with an indoor pool and a beautiful spa. There is a large private area in the sea which is an idyllic place to swim.
