The majority of the coastal region, including the city of Dubrovnik, is considered to be a year round destination. The warmest months of the year are July and August, during which time the daytime high temperatures will hover around the low 30°C's. The coldest months of the year on average are January and February, during which time the daytime highs will be around 12°C. Lopud in the heart of the Elaphiti islands. Constructed in 1483 as a cloistered sanctuary for quiet contemplation and healing, this medieval fortified monastery has been sensitively restored in order to retain its integrity and authentic feeling.
This villa is a mecca for anyone with a key interest in art. The Thyssen-Bornemisza family have amassed over four generations, an impressive collection that spans between the thirteenth to twenty-first centuries, and was said to be the largest collection after the Queen of England’s.
The villa itself consists of 5 rooms and suites, each with their own en-suite making it perfect for friends as well as families. Each one adorns view either over the ocean or the perfectly manicured gardens. The rooms all uniquly designed incorporate Renaissance furniture from the collection as well as new bespoke furniture designed by Italian designer Paila Lenti.
Your stay here will be handled with precision by the villa host and there are a range of nearby activities which can be arranged. Meals will be taken care of by the private chef who will cater the meals to your tastes and requirements. Meals can be enjoyed outside or in the Old Kitchen as well as cocktails and canapes on the Sunset Terrace, located on the top of the fortress, offering exceptional views of Lopud and The Elaphiti Islands.
Although this property does not have a swimming pool you have easy access to the clear blue sea with use of paddle boards and kayaks and you can paddle over to a nearby beach.
Whilst at the villa there’s a manager, a private chef and service, housekeeping, and 24h security. For all spa treatments therapists from the mainland will be arranged for massage, yoga and personal training. There is a massage room but guests can choose other location if they prefer.
You stay at Lopud 1483 is based on half board and also includes Lopud 1483 selected local wines, beers, soft drinks and limited house spirits. All meals will be provided by your personal chef and you can choose from a number of spots around the villa to enjoy your meals together.
Take a boat trip to nearby Lokrum Island. At its center is a medieval Benedictine monastery complex that’s surrounded by botanical gardens planted with exotic trees, flowers, and bushes. Picturesque swimming spots abound on the island’s rocky shoreline. As tempting as it would be to avoid the crowds a walk around Dubrovnik's old town is a must and we can give some excellent suggestions for restaurants. For the more active guest head to Konavle and take part in some horse riding or sea kayaking.
