Located seven miles from Dubrovnik and having received a meticulous and loving renovation over the last twenty years this fifteenth century monastic complex, once home to Franciscan monks is now available for exclusive hire

Lopud in the heart of the Elaphiti islands. Constructed in 1483 as a cloistered sanctuary for quiet contemplation and healing, this medieval fortified monastery has been sensitively restored in order to retain its integrity and authentic feeling.

This villa is a mecca for anyone with a key interest in art. The Thyssen-Bornemisza family have amassed over four generations, an impressive collection that spans between the thirteenth to twenty-first centuries, and was said to be the largest collection after the Queen of England’s.

The villa itself consists of 5 rooms and suites, each with their own en-suite making it perfect for friends as well as families. Each one adorns view either over the ocean or the perfectly manicured gardens. The rooms all uniquly designed incorporate Renaissance furniture from the collection as well as new bespoke furniture designed by Italian designer Paila Lenti.

Your stay here will be handled with precision by the villa host and there are a range of nearby activities which can be arranged. Meals will be taken care of by the private chef who will cater the meals to your tastes and requirements. Meals can be enjoyed outside or in the Old Kitchen as well as cocktails and canapes on the Sunset Terrace, located on the top of the fortress, offering exceptional views of Lopud and The Elaphiti Islands.

Although this property does not have a swimming pool you have easy access to the clear blue sea with use of paddle boards and  kayaks and you can paddle over to a nearby beach.
