Itinerary

Immerse yourself in the depth and beauty of Cambodia with this varied itinerary taking in key cultural areas throughout this beautiful country. Admire the extraordinary temples of Angkor, soak up the gorgeous countryside in Battambang, revel in the buzz and energy of Siem Reap and the country’s capital Phnom Penh and relax on the stunning island of Koh Rong. With private expert guides you will be sure to get under the skin of this fascinating country.

  1. Days 1-4: Siem Reap & Angkor Wat

Your journey will start in Siem Reap, which has a vast array of exciting adventures, tours and experiences to suit every traveller. Of course no visit to Siem Reap is complete without visiting at least a few of the incredible temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park. Angkor Wat, which is the largest religious building in the world, is arguably the most famous. Temples such as Ta Phrom and Preah Khan are less well preserved, but wonderfully atmospheric, with tree roots winding through the walls and over doorways.

For a more off the beaten track experience, head out into the Siem Reap countryside to visit quieter temples and monuments such as the Roluos Group, Banteay Srei and Kbal Spean. It is also worth visiting Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, where you can take a boat trip to floating villages.

Accommodation: Heritage Suites Hotel (3 nights)

  2. Days 4-6: Battambang

Absorb the fascinating scenery as you travel by car from Siem Reap to the authentic town of Battambang in the northwestern province. This sleepy yet welcoming town is surrounded by gorgeous countryside, with lush rice paddies and fragrant orchards. Spend time exploring the rural areas around Battambang, cycling though country roads and rustic villages, stopping off to visit local temples.

For a humbling experience visit the mountain of Phnom Sampeu. The summit of the mountain has fabulous views over the countryside and beautiful pagodas to see.  On your way up visit the famous caves and the monument which highlights the tragic history that took place there.

Accommodation: Bambu Hotel Battambang (2 nights)

  3. Days 6-8: Phnom Penh

From Battambang to Phnom Penh it is around a five-hour drive, but there are plenty of things to stop off and see on the way. Visit Kampong Chhnang to learn about the area’s pottery industry, walk up the dramatic Oudong Mountain and stop at the Vipassana Dhura Buddhist Meditation Centre before arriving into Cambodia’s capital.

Accommodation: La Rose Suites (2 nights)

  4. Days 8-12: Koh Rong Archipelago

Leaving the fascinating city of Phnom Penh behind, you will take a four-hour car journey to the sandy shores of Sihanoukville where you will take a ferry over to the stunning island of Koh Rong. Stay four nights at the luxurious island hideaway of Royal Sands Koh Rong, a remote and stylish hideaway surrounded by miles of deserted beaches.
Spend your days soaking up the sun, exploring the unspoilt beaches, island-hopping the archipelago by boat, or take to the water on a kayak or stand up paddle board and venture out on a journey of discovery.

Accommodation: The Royal Sands Koh Rong (4 nights)
