The plantation rooms, casitas and private villas are stylishly furnished with cool white fabrics, handcrafted mahogany furniture and walls adorned with local art frescos. Suites feature spacious bedrooms with magnificent four-poster bamboo beds and verandas with chaise lounge and sofas offering stunning oceanic views. The pool is perfect for relaxing and overlooks the turquoise Caribbean. At night guests can enjoy delicious fresh seafood in the hotel’s Palmilla restaurant and a cocktail in the cosy palapa bar.

The hotel has its very own PADI dive centre and access to some of the world’s best diving. There is also a wealth of other activities close by including a wide range of other water sports, fishing, wildlife excursions, Mayan ruin excursions, romantic sunset cruises, cave tubing and golf. Or why not take to the skies on a helicopter tour of the local islands.

There is sea grass in front of Victoria House Resort & Spa’s shores, which makes swimming or snorkelling from the beach not really possible. We therefore recommended that guests swim off the jetty or head out by boat for an ocean dip. Sea grass is a natural occurrence and a vital element of the ecological marine world as many ocean species thrive on it to survive.
