Estancia La Bandada is ideal for a relaxing break in the Argentine countryside, offering the perfect combination of an authentic estancia culture and modern comfort with individually designed interiors using antiques sourced from local markets.

A refreshing escape in the Argentine countryside, Estancia La Bandada (formerly Estancia Candelaria del Monte) is a beautifully restored historic estancia which still operates today as a working farm. The Criollo Horses are well looked after and there are a variety of sizes and temperaments suited to each individual rider. Whatever your experience level, the attentive staff will be able to accommodate you and ensure that you are comfortable when taking the horses out for a ride, and the friendly estancia dogs will be more than happy to join you too! With just seven guest rooms at the estancia, the staff are able to highly personalise your stay and ensure that your time in the Pampas is memorable.

Owned by local artist Sebastián Goñi, Estancia La Bandada has been given a modern twist, yet retains its historic charm. Each of the seven rooms is unique and rustic in style, with comfortable furniture and colourful local textiles, while common areas are designed to feel homely and welcoming. Surrounded by trees and 200 acres of open grassland, the natural beauty of the area will leave you feeling relaxed after a long flight or action-packed itinerary throughout South America. Riding, farm activities and birdwatching are included in your stay, while polo lessons and fishing can be arranged at an additional charge. A large outdoor pool provides the perfect spot to cool off after a long ride.

The surrounding gardens are used to grow herbs and vegetables which are served from the estancia kitchen.

Activities on the farm include horse riding, light farm work, visits to the nearby town and gentle bike rides. The vast grounds are ideal for walking too so why not take the dogs with you?

For an additional charge, polo lessons, massages, guided birdwatching and guided fishing can be arranged.

Ali Andino (Staff)

Really friendly, attentive staff. The rooms are all decorated slightly differently. There is a lovely pool and horses on the property, which is the main focus of the estancia of course. Rooms do not have a TV, as they encourage all the guests to mingle in the common areas or just unplug. All meals are served family style. There is also some very interesting art made by the owner of the property.
