Estancia La Bamba is ideally located only 120km from Buenos Aires and close to San Antonio de Areco in the heart of the Pampas. La Bamba is one of the most upscale colonial estancias near Buenos Aires and is steeped in history and tradition.
Recently renovated with great care as a Relais & Chateaux boutique hotel, Estancia La Bamba successfully combines luxurious comfort and colonial elegance. Offering guests the feeling of being welcomed into a private home, Estancia la Bamba is steeped in history and tradition which makes this hotel a special and timeless place, and perfect for a spot of relaxation.
A stay at Estancia La Bamba offers you the chance to discover the soul of Argentina, it elegantly combines tradition and comfort in an amazing setting of expansive green fields. The striking dark red and white colonial style building hosts dark wood antique furniture and artwork throughout, as well as authentic horseback riding accoutrements to complete the look. The estancia also has a watchtower, covered porches, a charming internal courtyard and beautifully kept lawns ready for a stroll or a whack at croquet.
The horses are perfect for beginners, giving everyone the chance to get a feel for the traditional Gaucho lifestyle. In the setting of the pastoral fields you can explore on foot, by bike or horse and during polo season the estancia’s polo team practices and plays games on site for your viewing pleasure.
The staff are attentive and personable, it is assured that every detail will be taken care of. With exquisite food on offer throughout the day, you are guaranteed not to go hungry. Highlights include an elaborate asado BBQ served for lunch during your stay, and delicious empanadas served in between meals just to tide you over! As is typical at Argentine estancias, meals are served together with other guests, adding to the convivial atmosphere and so that you may share stories of your travels through the country so far.

In terms of beauty and style, La Bamba is hard to beat. The gorgeous dcor of the property is my favourite thing about the estancia, each room is tastefully put together with a consistent colour scheme of clean whites, deep browns with flashes of colour from the locally made pattern carpets and bed throws. The living room, where you meet the other guests for a drink before dinner is gorgeous filled with dark wooden tables topped with lovely big coffee books and flickering candle lit lanterns, it's a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and chat to the other guests who you'll have dinner with later on. In terms of riding, La Bamba have beautiful stables filled with their riding horses and Polo ponies. I would say it's a fantastic place for people looking for more of a luxurious hotel escancia experience rather than a truly immersive guacho experience. A typical day involves a gentle ride in the morning, followed by an indulgent asado at lunch, and then the rest of the day is left free to do as you wish. You can either take a dip in their big, refreshing outdoor pool, wander through the gardens or have an afternoon massage!
