Busanga Bush Camp

Busanga is a unique and authentic safari camp hidden away on an island overlooking the Busanga Plains. The Busanga Plains are seasonal floodplains that extend all the way to the horizon, allowing for uninterrupted views and amazing sunrises and sunsets. The plains are dotted with small 'islands' which are dominated by the Wild Fig and Date trees. The lounge and bar area is under canvas and set back slightly from the main tent is the dining area, which is set under a canopy of trees and is lit up at night by a stunning chandelier.

As the lodge is situated on a floodplain the wildlife does change over the seasons, and as a result the camp only operates during the dry season, from the beginning of June to the end of October every year, when the game life is at it best. From the camp, you can see large numbers of wildlife as they graze their way across the plains and closely followed by their predators. Lion, cheetah, wild dog and the elusive serval have all been spotted in the area.

Busanga Bush Camp specialises in unique game drives and guests can take a 3-hour night drive to gain a unique glimpse into Busanga's nocturnal creatures including genet, civet and leopard. For the bird watching enthusiasts there is a 3-hour specialist birding safari where guests can try and spot some of the 491 different species of bird that are in the area.
