Naoshima - Scott Dunn suggests
Naoshima Island, Japan
Since the late 1980s Naoshima has become increasingly well known for its fine contempoary art galleries and architecture. It now has a global presence and is fast becoming one of the world's premier destinations for art. Here are some suggestions:
During your time on Naoshima island we highly recommend visiting a number of museums and galleries; Benesse House, Chichu Museum, Lee Ufan Museum and The Art House Project. This is mostly like to take up an entire day as you skip from one to one.
Visiting the nearby island of Teshima is also recommended and can easily be arrange when you are there as it is just a short ferry away. Here we suggest visiting Les Archives du Coeur, Pipilotti Rist installation house, Teshima Art Museum, Storm House, Particles in the AIR by Noe Aoki and Shima Kitchen for lunch.
