Average time to visit
The best time to visit the UAE is between October and November and then February and March, when temperatures hang around the mid-20s and the humidity is under control. While December and January are generally considered the best months to go, the weather over the last couple of ‘winters’ has been unpredictable with occasional cloud and rain.
The month of Ramadan means hotel rates are heavily discounted, but while outside the resort, Ramadan is strictly adhered to, within the resorts you will notice very little difference.
High summer (July and August) means heavy discounted hotels it’s a great option for a cheap getaway but it will be very very hot and very very humid!

Mina A'Salam is part of the Madinat Jumeirah and offers really good value. Like Dar Al Masyaf and Al Qasr, you have access to 44 restaurant on site which is amazing, and there is plenty to do. The Madinat itself has a 2km stretch of beach, the longest hotel beach in the country. You also get complimentary access to the Wild Wadi water park so won't be stuck for activities!

Jumeirah Madinat is a large complex split into three separate hotels and linked by waterways. There are 44 restaurants to try should you have the time, as well as a large beach, souk area (Arabian market) and various pools to choose from.
1. Mina A'Salam is the hotel option for guests with a slightly more modest budget. It has an old Arabic style, grand lobby with a huge pond of rose petals and the rooms feature dark woods and give a subdued luxury feel. I would recommend the Arabian Sea View Deluxe rooms or suites as they allow two children under 12 to share your room, which is great for smaller families or couples looking to access the Jumeirah complex at a lower budget.
2. Dar al Masyaf is the most exclusive section of the complex and the most popular with Scott Dunn guests. It is made up of a collection of summerhouses spread all around the complex and joined by waterways. Each house has around 9 rooms and a suite. The houses are split into two categories: Arabian and Gulf. The Gulf houses offer either sea view or garden view rooms, Arabian offering garden view rooms only, and there is one suite in each house. All rooms interconnect so they are great for families. The Dar Al Masyaf feels like a boutique hotel despite being part of such a large resort. This hotel also has the best access to the beach, children's club and majority of restaurants.
3. Al Qasr is the more luxurious of the two main hotels and more suitable for couples than Mina A'Salam. I would say Al Qasr is more glitzy and better located due to its proximity to the beach; the kid's club and the souk area are also located here with many shops and restaurants, perfect for families. Rooms have either Arabian (garden) views or Gulf (sea) views. Connecting rooms can be requested but are unfortunately not guaranteed.
I highly recommend their new Mexican Restaurant called Tortuga, which is great to pop into for a casual yet yummy meal in the Mina al Salam, the Pulled Beef Burrito is excellent as is the Borrrego Mexican Tacos which is oven roasted Lamb in avocado leaves with green tomatillo sauce.
