A 30-minute drive from Sigiriya brings you to Habarana where safari jeep will transport you into Minneriya National Park. During the dry season of July and October, large herds of wild elephants can be found near the age-old reservoir of Minneriya Tank. In other times, smaller groups can be spotted at the water points.
