The rainy season on the Lamu Coast is generally May/June. So from July onward the weather is gradually getting hotter and dryer until March/April when it reaches the high 90's (over40 degrees C). Christmas/New Year is generally considered the peak season and the weather is lovely from December to February with constant sunshine and gentle off shore breezes. November and March are shoulder months and typically the hottest times of year. June to October are the coolest months when snorkelling and fishing are not possible but days are sunny and families wishing to avoid the heat often find this a lovely time of year to stay.

Wazi Dubu House is an exclusive, private villa set on Kizingoni Beach, on the beautiful island of Lamu off the North Kenyan coast. Wazi Dubu sleeps at least ten guests and is fully catered including chef and boat captain for the private speed boat.

Wazi Dubu House is the southern most property on Kizingoni Beach. Its spacious, cool design and palm fringed position have made it a great favourite with family visitors and party groups alike.

With its soft yellow walls, colourful shrubs and tall coconut palms around the central pool courtyard, Wazi Dubu allows complete privacy and security. The three elevated communal areas – the breakfast roof, sundowner baraza and main dining terrace – provide huge views across the Indian ocean, the beach and the passing dhows.

Entertaining areas are vast and cool, decorated with traditional carved plasterwork and sturdy hardwood furniture. Brightly patterned kanga-covered cushions invite you to sink onto expansive baraza seats or cool swinging beds that are so comfortable you are happy to stay indefinitely.

There are bookshelves and bars, intriguing local artefacts, generous pots full of bright green ferns and palms and the discreet, attentive staff, cheerfully carrying trays of fresh lime juice or afternoon tea. The palatial master suite, dominated by a huge carved mirror reflecting the ocean, has a breathtaking view over the pool, the beach and sea. Also, on the first floor is a dining terrace with a table long enough to seat 16 comfortably, the perfect party venue.

Nothing has been forgotten to ensure visitor comfort. The en-suite guest bedrooms have private terraces, large comfortable beds and working desks.

A separate kitchen, with laundry and staff quarters stands behind the house. The house is fully staffed and comes with a speed boat and captain who will be always on hand to take you on a leisurely fishing trip in the mangrove channels, a cultural tour of Lamu Town or for a variety of thrilling water sports.
