Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The climate in Greece is warm and sunny for the majority of the year, however the island properties are only open from May to October. In May, the islands come to life and weather usually settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings, especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May, June and September are particularly pleasurable months with July and August being especially popular on the islands.

Epic island hopping off the beaten track, unique and salubrious at the same time you will experience the Greek isles like never before. Stunning vistas, secret hideaways, sublime cuisine and all with pure authenticity, you will get under the skin of local traditions, visit secluded islands and soak up the sun on paradise beaches, this is the best way to visit this trio of spectacular islands in the iconic Cycladic cluster.

  1. Fly to Athens

  2. Days 1-3: Athens, Greece

Dive head first in to the hustle and bustle of Athens, the ancient capital city and legendary birthplace of democracy and modern civilisation. Spend two nights in the heart of the city at the stylish King George Palace, located on Constitution Square - perfect for exploring the city. Get lost in the winding streets of Plaka, thought to be Athens’s oldest district, and admire the whitewashed buildings of picturesque Anafiotika, inspired by the traditional architecture of the Cyclades.

Devour the food scene of Athens, joining your local guide to explore the city's streets, visiting shops, bakeries and markets. Start with tastings of olive oil, honey and cheese before continuing on to try some of Greece's most delicious sweet treats, paired perfectly with a traditional Greek coffee. Visit one of Athens' oldest bakeries, wander through bustling markets and finally sit down to sample souvlaki and loukoumades, delectable Greek doughnuts served with honey.

    Accommodation: King George (2 nights)

  3. Days 3-6: Milos

Leap to the first of your three beautiful islands to explore Milos, leaving the crowds of Athens behind you. Known for its simply breath-taking landscapes surrounded by the clearest blue waters, you will start to relax in a shot. You'll stay at the boutique hotel Milos Breeze, perched on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful bay below, a peaceful retreat yet only a 10-minute walk from the town of Pollonia.  Kick back and soak up the view from the idyllic pool overlooking the Aegean.

Fun times start with an epic private jeep safari to discover all the secluded and unspoilt corners of Milos through off-road exploring. Following the dirt paths you will head to western Milos to explore the Natural Reserve and some of the island’s secluded spots. Admire volcanic formations, ancient chapels and abandoned mines before swimming at pristine beaches and enjoying a refreshing drink at a charming Greek coffee house. Swap off-road trails for a slice of paradise on your very own private yacht, exploring the spectacular Kleftiko caves on Milos’s southern coast and admiring the breath-taking rock formations.  Explore the caves on a unique snorkelling safari, where you’ll also have use of an underwater camera to document your discoveries. Once you’ve had your fill of snorkelling, discover the caves from above the water, on the yacht’s rib boat, then sit down to enjoy a delicious lunch on board.

    Accommodation: Milos Breeze (3 nights)

  4. Days 6-9: Sifnos

Your next stunning island adventure awaits, the charming island of Sifnos, which can only be reached by boat. Your retreat for the next three nights will be the boutique hotel Verina Astra, designed in a contemporary minimalist style, using neutral tones and natural materials to complement the hotel’s surroundings. Every room has its own private terrace offering majestic views of the Aegean Sea. The boutique scale of the hotel ensures a tranquil, relaxing stay, far from the crowds of the other Cycladic islands. Why not request breakfast on the terrace outside your room for privacy overlooking the jaw-dropping view?

Calling all lovers of the outdoors, spend time exploring the charming villages and beautiful landscapes of the island, with its fantastic foodie scene, where local produce and specialities of the island are centre-stage. To get really off-the-beaten-track, join your guide on a private RIB boat to visit the nearby islands of Kimolos and Polyaigos. Explore the authentic fishing villages of Kimolos and admire the stunning caves in the north, before continuing on to Polyaigos, the largest uninhabited island in the Aegean Sea. Translating as ‘many goats’ Polyaigos is the perfect place to stop at secluded beaches and swim in the glittering waters in complete tranquillity.

    Accommodation: Verina Astra (3 nights)

  5. Days 9-12: Naxos

Then on to Naxos, the largest island in the Cyclades. This stunning island has something to suit everyone, from spectacular beaches to picturesque hilltop villages. Spend three nights here at the unique Ayiopetra Exclusive Getaways, with just five suites, this boutique property ensures a peaceful, adults-only retreat. Surrounded by the rolling hills and mountains of Naxos, this slice of luxury boasts incredible views and a truly serene atmosphere.

For an idyllic place to unwind you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to Naxos's beaches, many of which are often uncrowded and hidden in secluded bays. Away from the beaches, the island's towns and villages are well worth exploring, from the bustling capital to the enchanting Chalki and Apiranthos, tucked away in the mountains.
