Perito Moreno & Mini Ice Trek
Kitted with ropes and crampons, you'll walk on the 20-storey high, 3-mile wide Perito Moreno glacier for spectacular views of the lakes and lagoons. Afterwards explore the walkways to gain new perspectives and take incredible panoramic shots.
Spend a full day exploring the mesmerising splendour of Perito Moreno Glacier – one of the world’s only advancing glaciers. Drive through the dramatic landscapes of Los Glaciares National Park towards Bajo de las Sombras pier, where you’ll meet your group. Cross the lake by boat, stopping in front of the glacier to absorb the creaks and soars from the water. Watch as huge chunks of ice calve off into the lake below.
After landing on the opposite shore, you’ll don your crampons and embark on a trek which takes you through the Magellanic forest to the icy surface of the glacier itself. Prepare for an epic adventure which will afford you unrivalled proximity to this hostile but beautiful environment. Your guide will prove their invaluable expertise and excellent safety credentials as they help you traverse this immense marvel on foot. Soak up every facet of this natural wonder, from the huge monoliths of ice that jut out in all directions, to the dark and enchanting caves that have formed at the base of the glacier and the deep blue lagoons that dot the surface.
After about two hours trekking on the glacier, you’ll head back by boat to the pier and will have time for a picnic lunch and to wander the winding boardwalks. From this more distant perspective you can gauge the full scale of the glacier and appreciate the epic undertaking of your morning ice trek.
