Mini Ice Trek: Perito Moreno
Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina
An exhilarating mini-trekking adventure across the vast Perito Moreno Glacier. Set with ropes and crampons, hike on a sea of ice amidst lakes, lagoons and mountains for stunning views of the Patagonian wilderness.
Explore the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier up-close on this half-day, mini-trekking excursion.
Kitted with ropes and crampons, you will walk on this vast ice form, which reaches 75m high and five kilometres wide, for spectacular views of the surrounding lakes. The Perito Moreno Glacier is unique because it is still growing – most of the world’s glaciers are retreating – and as such, you may be treated to incredible explosions, as chunks of ice are shed and crash into the crystalline waters below.
The excursion starts with a 20-minute ferry ride across the lake, from where you can enjoy breath-taking views of the glacier. Your hike will last for around two hours. You will walk along trails in the midst of this frozen wonderland with views of the icy pinnacles as far as the eye can see.
After a packed lunch on the ice, you head back to your boat and continue your walk on the footbridges in front of the glacier for a different perspective.
Open to guests aged 10-65 years only. Boots that are compatible with crampons are required.
