Situated just south of the equator, the Seychelles have a warm tropical climate. The consistently warm tropical weather makes the Seychelles a good year round destination.
There is little fluctuation in warmth, with temperatures ranging from 24C to 31C all year round. From May to October a southeast trade wind can bring marginally cooler weather and fresh breezes. From November to March the northwest monsoon wind blows, typically raising temperature and humidity. December and January are the wettest months, but the rain falls in short sharp bursts before the sun comes out again.
To start planning your holiday to Four Seasons Resort Seychelles
Located in a dramatic setting on the granite island of Mahé with breathtakingly beautiful views, The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles offers tree top living in one of the most sought-after luxury getaways in the Indian Ocean.
This stunning resort has tree-top inspired villas cleverly positioned to make the most of their elevated settings on a lush hillside overlooking the island’s south west shores. Inside they consist of sitting areas, opulent Four Seasons-styled bathrooms and between one and six bedrooms, whilst outside there’s an expansive deck with dining areas, day beds and infinity-edge pools offering wonderful sunset views of the bay. The resort is a hideaway of romantic simplicity and of course offers the legendary Four Seasons service and attention to detail.
The Seychelles form an archipelago of 115 islands scattered across the equatorial Indian Ocean. First colonized by the French in 1770, the islands still feel undiscovered and only about 20 are inhabited. The Seychelles have no indigenous population and today they display a vibrant ethnic diversity – with the largest groups being of French, African, Indian and Chinese descent. A strong French Creole influence is evident in culture, custom and cuisine.
The Four Seasons Resort has a full range of water sports on offer together with a host of cultural excursions including a visit to the vibrant and bustling Victoria Market, where you will see everything from local crafts made from coconut to silk paintings and handmade jewellery. Fishermen bring their catch to the fish market, and stalls sell fragrant spices, citronella tea and local delicacies.
Children will be in safe hands at the ’Kids for All Seasons’ club open all day for children aged 4 to 12 years old, whilst grown-ups can simply relax at the hilltop spa, enjoy watersports, explore the jungle or take a boat trip to see the largest population of giant tortoises outside the Galapagos.
At Four Seasons, guests enjoy a unique vantage point from which to explore the sights, sounds and experiences that are typical of the Seychelles.
Each of Four Seasons Resort Seychelles’s 67 villas – including five suites – offers a private sanctuary, perched on stilts high on the jungle hillside or nestled amidst lush tropical greenery close to the beach. Very few places in the world can aspire to the magical setting of Four Seasons Seychelles. Arriving into their reception you are mesmerised by the incredible expanse of turquoise sea, cobalt blue sky and the white sandy beach beckoning from below. But nothing could have prepared me for the view from my incredible villa hideaway. Nestled in emerald green fronds of palms at the top of the resort my eerie looked out over a visa of glittering seas. The view from the bathroom over my infinity pool was unbelievable and as the sun set, blood red into a wine dark sea, I felt as if I truly had found paradise. A stunning Spa set high on the hill with the same views, beautiful spacious villas and residences dotted above a perfect white crescent beach of the finest sand, a wonderful pool and great restaurants all create a perfect resort. Snorkelling from the beach on their house reef was incredible, teeming with a myriad of iridescent hued fish of every shape and size, perfectly visible in the turquoise clear sea. The beach is truly a castaway dream and for the more adventurous there are water sports available and diving organised by the hotel locally. This is truly the most beautiful hideaway and perfect for couples, families with a great Kid's Club on offer and honeymooners who wish to escape the real world.

This is a stunning property and I have to say one of my very favourites, the villas are stunning here located perched into the hillside with the higher ones commanding the ocean views and the lead in category overlooking the gardens. Each villa boasts the most amazing indoor/outdoor bathroom and a wraparound terrace with double day bed and infinity pool. You will not want to leave your villa!!
Though you will because this resort has in my opinion the bets beach on Mahe its sheltered so is a good swimming beach and you can do some snorkelling right off the beach and see some good fish, they're also working on a marine conservation project here to help the coral grow and it was interesting to see this whilst out on my early morning snorkel with one of their wonderful guides who are on hand for other great activities such as stand up paddle boarding and learning to surf!

Just 35 minutes from the airport you will feel miles away at this hill top hotel. The hotel is in an amphitheatre shape with all rooms facing towards the ocean and leading down to the bay below. For a wonderful overview of the hotel visit the rooftop terrace of the spa, the highest point of the resort. The views out to the ocean and bay beneath you are truly spectacular especially at sunset. The beach has some of the softest sand and the snorkelling straight from the beach is good- with lots of varieties of fish to see and mostly hard corals. Kids have a ball at the little turtle kids club which is adjacent to the main pool and resident turtles. All the rooms and suites are scattered across the hill so that they are very private. They all feature pools and terraces to make the most of the stunning sunsets. Of course being a four seasons the service is outstanding- lie by the poolside where refreshing drinks and fruits will be served to you. Or Mr Shades and Mr Lotion will clean your sunglasses or offer you some sun cream.

A stunning hotel set around a bay with all the villas and suites cascading down the hill like an amphitheatre. All rooms have pools and can either be ocean, hilltop or garden view facing depending on the height. Despite the villas not being interconnecting for families with young children they are incredibly spacious and there is always a two bedroom suite. Lovely sandy beach- probably one of the best- if not the best in the Seychelles. For those who feel like being pampered the hilltop spa has an amazing viewpoint and has a selection of products and even a menu for the younger guests!

The resort is a piece of paradise, set in 172 acres. As it is set in a sheltered cove it will offer good weather all year round . It has a fantastic beach which is great for snorkelling. All the accommodation is set across the hillside and are on stilts. Room 610 is situated at one of the highest points of the resort and offers the most breathtaking views across the bay. It is a perfect place to watch a sunset sitting in your own pool or on the decking. The spa is large and very spacious again with stunning views - I had the best full body massage I have ever had, the therapists are brilliant. This hotel certainly offers the blown away fact

Set on Baie Lazare, less than 30 minutes from the airport, the Four Seasons Seychelles is a stunning new hotel. With individual villas set on stilts into the hillside, it really is a beautiful setting. Choose from Garden Villas which are closest to the beach and the main restaurant or an Ocean View villa with spectacular sea and more importantly, sunset views. With spectacular vies come steep hills, and there are plenty of them here. If you dont feel you can walk up to your villa, concierge golf carts will be quick to whisk you back up the hill.
The villas themselves are beautiful, eclectic, with lots of different styles inside, but it definitely works and they are extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are huge, with sunken baths and LOccitane goodies and they lead on to an outside shower and private plunge pool. Every villas has its own pool as well as deck and day bed. They are not completely private as yet but this will improve as the foliage continues to grow up around them.
The beach is a dream, rumoured to be the best on the main island of Mahe, it really is lovely. Calm most of the time, even during the rougher times of the year, its a great spot to stroll along, take out a kayak or go diving. The dive boats pick up right from the shore here.
The spa is in the best position of all, right at the top of the hill. Apart from the array of treatments on offer, the roof top terrace here is the best place to take in the Seychelles sun set whilst lounging on a day bed.
Four Seasons Seychelles is family friendly and has an excellent childrens club, however, none of the villas are interconnecting so families have to share a villa together or be separated. There are some stunning 2 bedroom villas with huge private pools also, as well as some incredible larger villas which will take your breath away and will be pretty heavy on the wallet too.
This is, in my opinion, definitely the best accommodation on the main island. If you only have a week in Seychelles or not enough time to get out to the outer islands, this is the best place to be.
