Situated just south of the equator, the Seychelles have a warm tropical climate. The consistently warm tropical weather makes the Seychelles a good year round destination.
There is little fluctuation in warmth, with temperatures ranging from 24C to 31C all year round. From May to October a southeast trade wind can bring marginally cooler weather and fresh breezes. From November to March the northwest monsoon wind blows, typically raising temperature and humidity. December and January are the wettest months, but the rain falls in short sharp bursts before the sun comes out again.

Constance Lemuria is set on the beautiful beach of Anse Kerlan, which is a short drive from the airport on Praslin. The stunning white sands are a safe breeding ground for the turtles who still lay eggs here in total tranquillity.

Although Lemuria is a relatively large resort, there are less than 100 rooms and with all the space and facilities on offer, it doesn't feel too busy and crowded. This is a great option for families as there is an excellent children's club offering a variety of exciting and educational activities. Lemuria is also home to the only 18-hole golf course in the Seychelles, attracting keen golfers. For eco-enthusiasts, visit the Eco-Kiosk, located on Grande Anse Kerlan near the suites, and learn interesting facts about the natural site of Lemuria, its flora and fauna, and the initiatives that they are taking to preserve the environment.

I really enjoyed my stay at Lemuria, I think it is a wonderful option for families looking for a resort style property with lots of activities. There is a fantastic 18 hole championship golf course, a wonderful spa and a selection of non motorised watersports to name just a few activities on offer. For me the purpose built kids club here really stands out as being one of the best, it is complimentary for children aged 4-12 years and offers the usual arts and crafts and games one would expect but also some quite unique things such as kids yoga, mocktail making, golf initiation, canoeing and visits to the tortoise. Plenty on offer to keep the younger guests occupied!

Praslin is just 15 minutes flight from Mah making Constance Lemuria very accessible. The resort is in a wonderful location featuring three beaches set across 160 acres, including the 18 hole championship golf course. Rooms are just set back from the beach and offer partial sea views due to the mangroves growing in front. Although you might not have a sea view, these mangroves add privacy to your villa. You have three restaurants to choose from with a mix between la carte and buffet. There are only non-motorised water sports here which makes it a more peaceful resort compared to its sister hotel Constance Ephelia on Mah.

Constance Lemuria is home to an 18 hole championship golf course with stunning views around the course. The accommodation is all set on the beach with mangroves just in front. The rooms offer beach or partial sea view and you can either stay in a villa with a pool or a junior suite. There are three restaurants; 2 la carte and 1 buffet restaurant. There are no motorised water sports at the hotel but it is a great spot for sailing. The hotel, like any other Constance hotels, has a wonderful kids club to keep the younger guests entertained.

To check in at Lemuria you are taken by buggy to the main reception, where they open the doors and you are greeted with a lovely pool, and beyond that the stunning beach. It certainly gives you the wow factor. It is a great family resort with lots of things to offer everyone - it boasts the only golf course in the Seychelles. The resort offers three good beaches so you are spoilt for choice. The children's club offers lots of activities for children from 4 - 12 years. You are close to the airport so you can hear small planes coming in from time to time.

One of the larger resorts in the Seychelles yet still less than 100 rooms, Lemuria is a great place to bring the family. Set over two lovely beaches on the edge of Praslin, it is well worth making the extra 15 minute plane journey from the main island to get here. Set in beautiful gardens and featuring the only golf course in the Seychelles, it is lush and green and welcoming. The main areas are large to accommodate more guests so it does lack some of the personalised service that other smaller properties on the island have. However, with this size comes more facilities including a beautiful tiered pool, choice of three restaurants (I recommend the grill at the end of the beach, fabulous views) and plenty of water sports and tennis.
Families are well catered for here with a good children's club which is best for children aged 4 - 10, and a choice of interconnecting rooms or suites and even villas for larger families. The villas are probably not the best option for younger children as they are set around a lot of water features.
Lemuria does lack exclusivity. Depending on when you stay it can feel quite busy and noisy and does occasionally attract groups as well. This aside though, it is a good all round resort for a family holiday.
The island of Praslin is great to explore so I would recommend getting out and about. It can be fairly expensive to eat in the hotel and there is a nice choice of restaurants on the island so hire a car or take a taxi out in the evenings.
One final tip, make the effort to walk over to the far side of the golf course where you will find one of the most gorgeous beaches in Seychelles. White sand and granite rocks and if you go there early enough in the day like I did, there is not another person on it.
