Average time to visit

Situated just south of the equator, the Seychelles have a warm tropical climate. The consistently warm tropical weather makes the Seychelles a good year round destination.

There is little fluctuation in warmth, with temperatures ranging from 24C to 31C all year round. From May to October a southeast trade wind can bring marginally cooler weather and fresh breezes. From November to March the northwest monsoon wind blows, typically raising temperature and humidity. December and January are the wettest months, but the rain falls in short sharp bursts before the sun comes out again.

Insider's View

I ate some of the freshest Tuna Sashimi I have ever tasted while staying at Alphonse!

If your budget allows, I would highly recommend staying in one of their Beach Suites. The Beach Bungalows are still lovely, but simple, and the Beach Suites offer more space and comfort.

Take your bicycle and head off to explore the island and the beautiful untouched beaches.

Alphonse Island in the Seychelles is a private island bursting with natural beauty. Spend your days enjoying world-class fly-fishing, superb snorkelling and diving and time relaxing on the idyllic white sandy beaches.

Alphonse Island is one of the spectacular Outer Islands archipelago of the Seychelles, offering an amazing combination of white sand beaches, fringed by palm trees and surrounded by clear turquoise waters. It is a relaxed island sanctuary featuring a single resort, perfect for a secluded stay. One of the real draws here is Alphonse's reputation as offering some of the world's finest saltwater fly-fishing. The accommodation on the island includes a small number of beach bungalows with private terraces and larger beach suites. All bungalows and suites are perfectly located moments away from the idyllic beaches of Alphonse with amazing views of the sun setting over the Indian Ocean. The island offers a main complex with a beach bar, swimming pool, tennis court and restaurant serving an excellent mixture of Seychellois Creole and French cuisine incorporating the freshest seafood you can find from the surrounding waters. Due to its remote location, the waters surrounding Alphonse Island offer some of the best diving and fishing in the Seychelles with coral reefs teeming with marine life. Above water, the fly-fishing truly is hard to beat and people travel to Alphonse Island from around the world for this alone. Of course there's plenty more to enjoy on the island including cycling tours visiting the many secluded beaches and tropical forests and boat trips to the surrounding uninhabited islands of St Francois and Bijoutier.
