Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
If you're visiting Sossusvlei, the best thing to do is avoid the summer, which is extremely hot. Therefore, the best time to visit southern Namibia is in winter (May and September) but bear in mind that the desert regions can be bitterly cold at this time of year. The climate of the southern coast is hospitable from February to May, but quite cool and misty year-round, and particularly windy in August.

Reviews
Miles McConnell (Staff)
Possibly my favourite camp that I visited on my last trip to Namibia. Sossuslvei Desert Lodge is set at the base of a small hill giving you a wonderful panoramic view out over the desert and to the dune in the distance. The staff however are what really made the trip that bit better with nothing to much trouble and unbelievable attention to detail paid to every aspect of your stay.
The rooms are all very private with views out over the desert and a skylight above the bed that looks out to the crystal clear sky that make the Namib desert such a hotspot for astronomers.
It is also perfectly positioned for those wishing to go on a early morning balloon flight over the desert (which is included in a 4 night stay).
